Where can I buy a pair of front stock springs?

Post by kieran_sly »

I'm getting the top mounts changed and was advised to get the springs done at the same time. I only want to replace them with stock ones. Is Mr T my only option. All the online stores only seem to stock the lowered ones.

In ascending price order:

forum - wanted section from someone who has lowered their 2
breakers yard
ebay
online 2nd hand parts seller
Toyota dealer.

How many miles has your car done? Obviously, 2nd hand stuff could easily have done far more than your own.

I got some springs off a 1991 car with 180k on the clock, and they don't seem particularly worn.

I've also got a set I took off my 48,000 kms GTS - but they were viscously hard and too low for normal use.

I've never identified them, but they are progressively wound, black in colour with luminous green and orange dabs on each side.

Do these sound familiar to anyone?

My partner's Celica's springs are also black with green and orange tabs on the coils, and they are the standard items.

But I can't imagine Toyota designing springs that awful...? they were truely horrid with the Bilstein dampers.
