auto gearbox problems

hello peeps
just been asked by a owner about auto box
he has 3 buttons around his stick a MANU? PWR? and a LITTLE RED one
i have only limited knowladge on this so dont want to give him the wrong the answer about it
any help would be graetfully recived

Not sure about the mr2 auto, but had a vauxhall calibra 2.5 v6. That had an auto box with two buttons. One was a sport mode allowing higher rpm gear changes. The other was for icy weather, making the car more tame.
I would think your 3 buttons would include these features?

MANU - Manual, you have to shift through the gears, so if you stop with it in second and go to pull away it won't change down to first.

PWR - Power enables the engine to rev to the redline before changing up a gear. It'll hold the same gear longer before shifting up.

Red button - is so that if you turn it off with it in drive or 1 or 2, you can get it to neutral or park to enable you to start it.
