MK1 Club BBQ @ Mallory MR2 Challenge

Post by mr2mk1chick »

The MK1 Club is having its annual BBQ at the MR2 Challenge at Mallory on the bank holiday monday 28th August.

All members ( & prospective members) are very welcome to pop along.
We will be providing burgers etc.

I have not been to this before, but last year it proved to be very popular, and people had a great day out watching the racing.

last year was the first ever organised UK Supercharger owners meet, hence why it was so well attended, it was a great event and was well attended by the Mk1 club members as well. Mallory Park is a really good track to watch the racing... go on... make a day out of it!!

Won't be this year I spose, since people will be off having a great time at Spa & teh Ring.. and I'm not a bit jealous.. :(

Should be there on Monday, but can't confirm yet.. might even be allowed to bring the new SC..

<edit>Scratch that, probably will need the diesel barge for lugging things around with..</edit>

Thanks to everyone who popped over to the club BBQ at mallory.
was really good to catch up with old faces and new. this was my first time watching mr2's on this circuit - but can't wait to have a go now on a track day.

they looked like they were havingn fun on the 'wet' qualifying round (esp Sam's drifting LOL)

The weather stayed dry for the BBQ thank goodness, and the gazebos kept us dry when the rain lashed down.

the next MR2 challenge at mallory is on the 22nd oct - so maybe see you there.

Also went to the Mallory Race day yesterday and enjoyed a good days racing, Mallory's one of the best tracks for parking & viewing.

It was my first visit to a MR2MK1 meet but can I say thank you for the hospitality and burgers !

Hope to see you all again.

Thanks

Yes agreed, a good day of racing. Highlights for me were the Mr2 races and also the aftermath of the Rover/MG going on its roof! Oh and I had a nice pint as well!

evening all.just like to say how nice it was to meet all you nice people on monday,it was the first time my wife and me had been to a race meeting, seems i have been missing out all these years.anyway we had a really enjoyable day, special thanks to sarah for the tickets,(i owe you a drink sarah)and tim if that was you on a bad day,you hid it well,as to a complete stranger you could have not made me feel more welcome,so thanks for that.the only problem i have now is "the bug has bit" and i can't wait for the next challenge meeting.anyway thanks again to all i met.paul. =D>

Yes, well done the organisers =D>

Was a good barbeque and very grateful that they brought the gazebos ('twas rather windy).

And great racing. Patrick's 16th to 6th on the first lap of race two was Senna-esque

Good to meet everyone.
