need to mould rear arches - anyone from Notts help please?

Post by scrimmager »

I'm trying to make some replacement rear arches out of fibreglass, but mine are too corroded to easily make a papermache mould. Would anyone allow me to grease their arches with vaseline and make a mould?

OK, I am being a bit thick here but how do you attach the fibre glass arches to the steel.

BTW, if you fancy a trip over to Kings Lynn you can make a mould from mine. There not perfect but there ok, and I could do with a set of fibre glass ones as well.

maybe I'm being a bit thick, but it should be possible to overlap the new arch with the old on the underside using fibreglass as long as the metal bodywork is very clean. I can't find any info on people doing this with MR2s so i hope i'm not being overambitious! thanks for the offer, but I'll see if i can get anyone closer, if not then I'll try and take up your offer.

Have you considerd welding some new ones on, including those cheap datsun cherry ones? Also consider custom arches, i did consider wide arches but the double skinning and adverse effects of wide wheels put me off...
