Hi all,

Only just discovered this part of the site and thought I would share a couple of unfortunate

(and bizarre) experiences I had a year or so ago.

.

.

1) I was coming home from a mate's house early one evening and as I pulled out of his road a Y reg Micra shot past.

I pulled out behind him and as it turned out he was going my way.

A mile or so down the road he got stuck behind another car, as this was uphill and the way ahead was clear I used

'the power of turbo' to take both of them

.

Then in my mirror I see the Micra repeat my move.

He turns off to the left, I go up a few more turnings and do the same.

Come out onto the road parallel to the one we were on

(this is my normal route) and lo, I see him bringing up the rear once more.

Nice bit of road, I put my foot down and leave him well behind.

Then I get stuck behind another car.

Can't overtake due to some bad blind bends.

Micra up my

@rse.

Overtake as soon as possible, hotly followed by Micra.

Start to get bad feeling about this.

.

.Drop the Micra again, then another mile or so along get stuck behind another car.

Really not good for ovetaking here so follow the car at a safe distance.

Then see the Micra come past both of us

(across the hatchings)

sit back and think

'off you go then'.

Suddenly car in front stops.

.

.WTF? Car in front pulls round to show me Micra has slammed to a halt and is giving me w@nker signs.

I say

'what's the problem?' then he slams it into reverse

& starts coming for me!

Not a lot I can do except reverse back myself.

.

.luckily nobody coming up behind.

He then burns off giving me more abuse.

I follow at a distance and turn off in the opposite direction as soon as possible.

.

.

.

2) A few months after this I was leaving another friends house and came up behind a grotty looking Nova at a junction.

The guy didnt seem to be making any move to turn out

(looked like he was lighting a fag) so I pulled around him and turned right.

At about 10 mph.

Next thing I know Ive got this clown

(with his front bumper hanging off!) about 2 ft off my tail.

OK, put my foot down a bit, but soon recall this is a very bad area for speeding

(housing estate with loads of junctions/drives/parked cars).

Hes clearly after me but I dont want to stop because Ive got the roof off and feel pretty exposed.

But after about a mile I get fed up, indicate left and pull over to let him pass.

He pulls up behind, giving me a load of grief, so I pull out and turn towards the main road, driving at a more sensible speed.

When I get to the main road, Im looking to nip out into the flow of traffic and leave him stranded, but its just too risky.

As I start to move forwards, he just drives into the back of me!

He gets out of

his car, I drive off.

Quickly.

Do a few twists and turns and stop to find no damage done.

What is the matter with these people? The only, and I mean the only, cause for complaint these people could have had is that I overtook them in a red sports car and drove off quite quickly.

I didnt tailgate them, cut them up, hoot my horn or gesture at them.

And I sure as hell wasnt trying to

race them!! The strange thing is these were no immature kids.

These were both pretty big chaps in their late

30s or early40s.

It seems to be that the worse the car, the more likely they are to give you some trouble.

People with decent motors have a bit more respect

both for their own property and for what youre driving.

Anyone else had experiences like these?
