Mad, mental, or Barking?

Post by Fonzy »

Ive decided that the proceeds of my house sale should go towards buying a garage.

On sunday im looking at the second appropriate business for sale with a veiw to developing one side of the business to a 3S service centre, the business has all the qualified staff in situe, i reckon a nutter like me can bring them over to the dark side whilst continueing with the clasic car business thats been successfull for the last 10 years, opinions, thoughts, whatever you like really! but go easy! its been a job convincing the wife already!

got to try mate if you have an oppurtunity, mind, do your homework! obvs well researched, the best of luck!.
If i had the time to devote even part time of my week to something pro-active i would. Including travel, my jobs running in at 60 hours pw, so by time i get home all im good for is vegin out on the couch!. I had a small part time business fitting autosecurity before i moved to new job (tool room manager), so the part time thing is out the window at the mo, its unfortunate, but i'll be back! in one way or another for sure, kinda sick of working for other people for the last 13 yrs, definately aspirate to own a self running business later on, go for it, or a bit more midly.. sounds like its worth a good look! jeez, im having trouble finding a house cheap enough to buy let alone selling for investment!

Good luck !!

Wait until every job you get is a timing belt replacement like me !! You'd wish otherwise ! Why can't I get a straight forward engine oil replacement !!! :D

Steve Cordiner originally wanted his car tweeking, now its resorted to a full blown rebuild with parts we're not sure that fit yet !!!

I will be looking for a 3s mechanic, assuming i make the purchase, a mechanic will be required to start in May when the advertisng goes out, as for the type of job that comes in, i really dont care mate, in place is already 1 X mechanic, 1 X panel beater/sprayer, 1 X classic car specialist, the 3S mecchanic will be completely responsible for that side of the business, with the exception of promotion/pricing/and advertising.
Tuning is clearly something i would love to get into at the correct stage, of yours fitting of parts wont be a problem, but the rebuilds will come later! im glad there is so much support, i have intentionally chosen this area of the country so i dont step on too many toes! i do believe in a fair buck!
If there are any genuine interests in employment please mail me, include experience, skills, and expected salary.
Thanks again guys

Sounds awesome Fonzy, but why couldn't you have it up Manchester way?!

Could do with a more interesting career change!!
Just applied for a job at a cylinder head place near me, no idea what'll come of it, would have to start as a trainee again as no real experience in tuning heads, jus re-built a few in me time with basic/stock parts, no flowing etc.

Good luck with everything pal.

Fonzy---some well meant advice:

Look at what they're selling and why

Look at what you're buying (its not always the same)

Do due diligence

Do due diligence again

Check out the market

Decide to buy or not but do nothing

If you are of the same opinion the following day DO IT

Best of luck :D
