To tint or not to tint that is the question

Post by bluethunder »

right then do I tint the windows on the car, I'm not talking pitch black just a light smoke 8), do I do all of them (obviously not the windscreen) or do I just do the rear window and the rear quarters, what are your opinions and thoughts guys and gals, do you have any pictures that you can show me so I can decide.

I have mine as limo on the rear and back sides, and dark smoke on the fronts..... I find this alright.

Prob best is dark smoke rears and light smoke fronts.

Make sure you get the correct tints though. The police are clamping down (so I have been informed) on window tinting.

I think you need to be able to allow 70% light through the window (inside to outside direction) for them to be legal.

I may be corrected here or be completely incorrect.

So if the law says 70% then whats worse....
Lightly tinted letting in 90% whilst wearing dark sunglasses or 50% tints with no glasses?
Are the police gonna start clamping down on sunglasses soon too? :D
I gotta say though, my car was tinted when I bought it, very dark sides and back and slightly lighter fronts. Cant see a bloody thing half of the time :D

Yep, I say tint them. I have a black tubby with limo back and rear side windows then light smokes on the door windows.

It feels like your in your own little cabin

I think the point is that when its dark you can take your sunglasses off, but you can't do the same with tinted windows unless you drive with the windows down all the time?

I've been in cars with dark tints and it does seriously hinder your vision at night, no question about that.

I don't understand why anyone would be happy to reduce their visibility so much :? . I drove a friends car once with the full tints and I really hated it at night - you just couldn't see a damn thing. Probably OK in blazing sunshine but...

I also massively dislike the look of the heavy tints at the back with lighter ones on the door windows. You might as well be driving a van IMO for how that looks.

Just my 2p.

I'll second that. I'f I was going to tint mine, I'd get all the tints done to the same level. I'd just geta light smoke all round.
