What a great event! We've been preparing for TOTB now for some time and we weren't disappointed.

We prepared three MR2s:
Andrew Standring
has a Rogue Motorsport built 2.0 litre 3SGTE, based around a revision 2 engine.

Noteworthy specs include Garret GT35R Turbocharger, Rogue modified JE 86.5mm Pistons, Eagle Conrods, ARP bolts throughout, Fidanza Flywheel, Spec stage 4 clutch, Sard 800cc injectors, Walbro fuel pump, Jetex 834bhp air filter, HKS 1.2mm Steel Headgasket, Rogue Modified Greddy Tubular Exhaust Manifold, Rogue

/ Radtec Chargecooler, Rogue Revision 6 Exhaust, Rogue Fan Kit, Turbosmart 48mm external wastegate,

"Street" spec headwork, shimless bucket conversion, HKS 264 cams, Link XLeM ECU and a whole bunch of other stuff that doesn't spring immediately to mind.

This engine has been dyno verified at 500.7bhp at the hubs.

This was Andrew's first go at drag racing and he picked it up quite quickly, improving throughout the day.

We experimented with the pressures of his Toyo R888 tyres until we achieved sufficient grip to glaze the clutch.

This prevented him improving upon his best time of 12.09 seconds, but didn't stop him embarrasing the Lamborghini Murcielago when he came up against it in the afternoon!

Andrew is already planning to replace the clutch, upgrade cams and lose some weight from his car over the coming weeks, so expect great things from him in the future.
Mike JC
has a Rogue Motorsport built 2.2 litre 5SGTE, based around a combination of different Toyota engines, the head coming from a revision 3 MR2 turbo.

This engine has been under development at Rogue for some time, and once proven will be our flagship off-the-shelf offering.

We're not releasing full detailed specs at this point, but this particular engine includes Garret GT28RS Turbocharger, Rogue modified 5S block and crank, Carillo Rods, Rogue 2.2 forged pistons

(made by Wossner to our design), Fidanza Flywheel, Custom high lift camshafts, uprated oversized valves, uprated valve springs and retainers, Rogue

/ Radtec Chargecooler, Jetex 834bhp air filter, Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust, Rogue Fan Kit, Motec M4 Ecu

(mapped by Dave Rowe), Tein Flex Coilover Suspension, Tein EDFC, Carbotech Panther Plus Brake Pads.

Mike's car should have been running a GT35 series for TOTB, but time constraints meant that this was not possible.

The car itself was only completed and the engine run in and mapped in the week before the event! Even so, this didn't prevent him from scoring a 12.37 second pass before the day was out, the second fastest MR2 of the day.

The
Old Rag Doll

(ask Mike) is due back at Rogue HQ this week for a check over and then again a couple of weeks later for it's GT35 series turbo.

Like Andrew, we expect Mike to be posting 11 second quarters before the year is out.
Toni Gladding
had owned her
genuine
TRD200GT for just three days when she dropped it in at Rogue with instructions to

"sort the brakes, suspension and give it enough power to scare me!".

The engine had receipts for custom work carried out in Japan, some of which was visible and some of which was clearly missing.

.

.

So we carried out a partial strip of the engine and confirmed HKS 87mm pistons, and uprated rod bolts, HKS cams and vernier pulleys amongst other things.

Happy that engine internals were of sufficient strength, Toni asked us to recommend and install whatever we felt necessary to fulfill her specification.

This meant the addition of a Walbro Fuel Pump, FSE adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Power Enterprise 800cc injectors, Jetex 834bhp air filter, Garret GT35R turbo, Rogue Tubular Manifold, Tial 42mm External Wastegate routed back into a matched Rogue 3" downpipe, Rogue

/ Radtec Chargecooler, Custom lagged intake pipework etc.

We also added Tein Flex Coilover Suspension and at Toni's request Tein EDFC and Racelogic Traction Control

(including Launch Control).

This combined with the groundwork already laid out in the TRD car

(Apexi Power FC, HKS SuperDragger Exhaust et al) meant that we had a real beast on our hands

- power being currently limited by the stock MAP sensor at 1.6 bar.

The only hitch at TOTB was the traction control system's refusal to calibrate, meaning Toni had to launch unaided despite having no seat time in the car whatsoever.

The rev limiter saw an awful lot of

(ab)use, but with practise Toni is condifent that there's at least another second to pull out of her 13.2x personal best.

So much so that the car is already back at Rogue HQ to be outfitted with an uprated MAP sensor and have the traction control sorted!

We were extremely proud of how

"our" drivers and their cars performed, and pleased to be supporting the IMOC-UK team.

Next year we'll bring enough battery straps for everyone to have one each!

Special thanks to Matt, Tony, Lyn, Ryan and Dean at Rogue Motorsport for their hard work and dedication in getting these great machines ready in time.

Thanks also to Mr Canny for organising the IMOC-UK presence.

Also worthy of a mention is Nick McCann who struggled against adversity

(and motorsport mentality) to get his car completed and to the event.

Best regards,
