? With the wheel jacked up off the ground, I can give it a spin, let it go and it will stop after about one revolution - 'cos of the drag of the pads on the disk. There's only a small amount of horizontal movement in the caliper provided by the sliding pins. The pads and caliper are nearly new. Either way that does not sound right at all. You checked that the sliding pins on the calipers are fine?- and then when you stop, see how hot it is compaired to the one on the other side. They should be the same temperature. Measured temperature on both front wheels and discs and they're more or less the same. The car rolls on even the slightest of slopes so brakes are not binding 
I guess everybodys brakes will drag to a certain extent 'cos the pads will always be touching the disk...was just wondering how much horizontal movement via the slider pins I should expect on a new caliper with newish disks and pads, I figured that it wouldn't be much...just wanted to make sure the brakes are not dragging anything more that the bare minimum and losing me some bhp and mpg's...
