Really sad news - you'd put a lot of heart into that car - but at the end of the day, its a releif to know you managed to walk away from something that sounded nasty.

No doubt you've got a million things on your mind and we all want to hear what happened - but I assume an insurance claim going might mean you can't tell us much until it is all settled.

Let us know what you're planning to do with your car and if folks here can help with anything.

DAN!!!!@#

I read your post about 5 times, I still cant believe it mate - im absolutely gutted for you. Just when things were starting to get better as well.

For what its worth mate, at least your ok - i have lost count of my mates that were killed or ended up in hospital when i was a lad from car accidents. Got to take it steady this time of year, no amount of skill or experience helps when its icy, just have to hope you land somewhere soft if it all goes wrong.

Its probably too early to make a decision yet, but if it was me I would find a cheap rev1 tubby and drop your engine in it.

I will credit your money back for the RR day - im sure someone else will take the spot. Hope your going to come and spectate anyway though? I will buy you a coffee over the road and we can have a chat.

Glad your ok mate.

Neil.

Maybe there should be a new thread enitled "find Dan a new chassis" so he can just port his parts over into a new ride?

Sorry to hear the bad news Dan. Hope you're ok though!!

At the end of the day an MR2 can be replaced, but body parts cant be.

Sure theres a few cheap rev 1's kicking about which you could swap the engine, box and ECU :)

Chin up fella, theres more to life than cars!!

Thanks for everyones concern. Picked up the car today and its a mess. Massive side impact and moderate frontal damage.

Thanks again...

Jees how'd I miss this!

Man it's good that your ok.

I'm guessing that you ain't going through insurance since you are considering selling the parts. If they write it off they are gonna want the engine etc with it. Unless you didn't declare them, but I'm sure you did.

Don't sell up. Just buy a shell and transfer it over. Let the spirit of the Zeni-Tani Biscuit Tin live on!

 Fook in hell! Looking at that mate you are lucky to still be here. Shame about the car, but it's only metal. Be thankful you was not in the other side. Hope you shell it mate. There's plenty about and cost nish.

Bl00dy hell Dan, count yourself very fortunate to walk away without a broken bone or two at least!
What a terribly sad sight though, if images like this prevent just one imoc member falling off the road this winter it'll be a good thing.
