he set off at the lights at kidlington airport and like just left me, it was a rusty old piece of xxxx E Plate it just kept bellowing black smoke at me i was at a ton plus and he still pulled away.

talk about making me look stupid.

I'm sure I've seen XR4x4 estates before - with a 2.8/2.9 V6. Only 150bhp or so, but huge amounts of torque, and the benefit of 4WD.

The V6 cologne engine is a relic from the cretaceous era, 12v, ohv, siamese inlet ports, a pushrod cast iron lump.

I had an XR4x4 saloon a while back and it would pull quite well, sounded good too! They do take off well from a standing start with their agricultural 4wd system, I think the 0-60 was something like 7 seconds, and they'll do 140mph, so it would be comparable to a na motor.

2.8 is 160bhp/160lbft and the 2.9 is 160/170.

i spend 8 hours a day driving around oxford and have never seen anyone go that fast.

oxford makes me mad, people drive on a national limit road at 45mph then when it goes down to 30mph they stand on the brake peddle.

everyone even the boy racers drive like my nan!!!!

A word of advice, many years ago I got points on my licence from a speed camera in oxford and I was doing 31mph in a 30 zone. Thats why nobody speeds there. I drive my Mk1 to Oxford every day from Reigate, Surrey and you do 10mph on the M25 then the M40 is treated by other people as a race track but come Oxford its nothing but roadworks and very trigger happy cameras.

i drive a truck(if that was aimed at me) 50+mph everywhere. if you see a green hovis truck coming i'd suggest you let me past, and deffinatley DONT PULL OUT infront of me unless you want to be owned! everyday some d1ckhead pulls out infront of me and then does 27mph, the one day i said to myself the next f3ck3r who pulls out is gonna get a lovely big dent.
