Mk1 water temp

Post by Scooter »

I've been reading up on the Mk1 in general and am aware of the Waxstat issues and Paul woods manual choke fix etc.

I'm just wondering how long the Mk1 should take for the water temp to read approx. midway on the dial, as mine seems to take quite some time. Just thinking that the thermostat may not 100% be doing what it should.

It normally gets there within about 10mins of driving, depending upon outside temperature.

If its taking a while longer or dipping if say you are cruising on a motorway then you can bet the thermostat is sticking.

Changing the thermostat is your best option.
