mr2 turbo v 406 coupe

feel like ive let down mine and other mr2s

anyway heading home near a good bit of road couple of roundabouts and long straights, out of nowhere this 406 under takes me giving it some revs , so off i go giving chase, caught him up on the roundabout on to the 1st straight i am backing off in 3rd next roundabout he takes it quick and i was quite impressed how it handled , only had my mr2 not even a month yet so i am not the best at taking it to its limits, anyway catch him up again and he just wont budge over (fair enough it wasnt a walk in the park catching him up)
i see a car just about to pull out so i am on the brakes before him as i knew his would be better. i put it in to 5th and cruise but that car moves over and hes off again so i am into 3rd not catching him but hes not getting away.
then i back off as there is dips in the road and a slight bend which is not a nice experience at 10mph

next roundabout i get annoyed that i couldnt get past him so back end twitching out but i control get behind him again but its to busy and road is only short so i back off and take it easy.
then i am behind him at traffic lights which i feel pretty useless but also thinking well he wouldnt let me past.

thats him off to tell his office mates he embrassed a mr2

had alook at figures 194bhp 7.3 0- 60 0 -100 19. something

but recently i keep thinking my mr2 isnt performing right, maybe i am right i just cant tell.
i keep putting it down to i am getting used to the power

From memory there's only 3 different 406 coupes...

2 litre - I test drove one of these (the shortest test drive in my life, under 5 minutes!!), I was not impressed (it wasn't the engine I disliked either).

3 litre V6.

And a diesel - FFS a diesel coupe

If you think you could of sailed passed him then i wouldn't worry about the power of it, he must be a bad loser if he wouldn't let you past.

Was that on the same private runway i use as well?

yeh the runaway i let you use now and again

when that car pulled out and i braked and put it in 5th he must of still been in lower gear and i am sure youd have to have alot more power to catch someone back up easy if they are flooring it and you just decide to give chase.
must admit i was gaining in 4th but i backed off as it got bit scarey on the bounce and bend

i'd be getting my car checked out if its performing like that... trust me mate, it happened to me and i left it... now im facing the bill for popping in a rev3 turbo engine

Yeah, you should have beaten him (just). I have a rev1 tubby and a 210bhp V6 version of the peugeot coupe. the peugeot is great for cruising on the motorway, but the tubby nails it for acceleration.
