It's an effing track day for gods sake. Why the hell was he trying to race and overtake on a corner?

Agreed, he was in the wrong. What a slack jaw.

i saw the incident too, he was being stupidly aggressive to all slower traffic all session, give your side off the story, he shouldnt have put you under the pressure he did going into that corner and he most certainly should not have passed on the inside like he did.

It'd make me mad as well, but I'd ignore it mate. The journo won't care, the mag won't care and you'll just get more wound up. And it'll be chip-paper tomorrow....

As everyone says it's dumbo driving, trackdays are just for fun and not racing - there's no trophy at the end for the "heroes". It's just a pity he hasn't got it yet....

Much more worrying he was so aggressive off track!

I read the article btw as someone who never saw anything (didn't go) and I don't think you came across badly at all...as soon as the article said 'dived in' and 'corner' I was thinking what a prat the honda driver was...

He did have one major scare though involving an over-eager AW11 MR2 driver. With the H22a-powered Accord clearly being the quicker of the two cars

So a faster car gives you right of way? Why not overtake safely after the corner?

Julian dived up the inside of Quarry in what would've been a perfectly clean move,

Maybe in a touring car race...but not at a trackday

allowing the MR2 plenty of room to fall in behind. Unfortunately, the MR2 carried too much speed into the corner,

I imagine you had to brake hard and/or make a sudden course-change? If 'Julian' had thought about what he was 'diving up' on he should have known a mid-engined car does not like to brake hard mid-corner or suffer a dramatic change of load distribution at all!

lost the back end and began a slow motion spin, setting a course to T-bone the ATR
Having seen the MR2 lose it in the corner of his eye, Julian swerved even tighter to the inside of the bend, planted his foot on the throttle and just squeezed through the near non-existent gap.

Wonderful poetry...so dramatic!

You couldn't have seperated the cars with a piece of paper: after returning to the Honda Revolutions club stand, Julian found a slight red scuff mark on his rear bumper - a mark so slight that it polished straight out.

And was there an ATR coloured scuff on your car, Garrick?

From this article, once you read through the '90% entertainment, 10% facts' writing style that is all too abundant in the press these days its clear to see that 'Julian' should have a think about what happened that day...and hopefully not do it again!

I am seriously over it guys. Thanks for the support though - not that I really needed it, but I am glad so many saw the incident and saw it from the real point of view 8)

On the nail, Colin, On the left hander going into Copse I saw in my mirrors that he came up quick and planned to let him through after the Copse corners. With the way he was driving, I half expected him to pass me on the outside and backed off a tad, but then so did he I think as he didn't take that opportunity.

Goining into the sharp right of Copse I saw him very close to my rear and just on the inside. I braked before the corner and took a fairly wider line knowing he was on my inside. At this point it was too late for further braking (mid corner / apex). Having taken the wider line meant turning in much more than you normally would and as it was the first lap after the outlap, the tyres hadn't reach sticky temp either and the car spun.

Copse? The only corner i know called Copse is the first corner at Silverstone.

There is no corner at Combe called Copse. Did you mean Camp corner which is the last corner on the circuit and passes teh Avon bridge?
