The following are already down as coming on the Lakes run:

1. Graeme & Gayle
2. Tony & Eileen
3. Jay & Rach (jevansio)
4. Stu & Anne
5. Phil and Melanie
6. Steve & Ann
7. mr2_craig & dawn
8. MegatronUK (John)
9. alan (aliendoughnut)
10. John & Grace (JohnnyC & eftee)
11. Si & Carla (sweete)

Anyone else who wants to add their name, please just copy and paste the list and add onto the end.

The above mainly consists of the North East Members, but we are hoping like last year more from the "Midlands" and "South" will attend as a good day was had by all.

There will be a BBQ so you will need to bring a disposable BBQ and some grub although everyone shares so there is always plenty to go round.

This year we have already arranged a meeting point for the BBQ/Picnic and has already been given the thumbs up by the Tourist Board, so no setting fire to rugby clubs this year.

Once we have final numbers, we will publish meeting points and routes.

Are there any routes and meeting points planned yet?
We'll probably do the same as last year and go for the weekend so we'd meet somewere closer to Windermere.

Looking forward to it \:D/
Grace.

Okay, better late than never, the route and information for sunday.

The MAIN meeting point for all the "northerners" will be the "Scotch Corner Hotel", in the main car park at the back of the hotel.

Meet there for 9:30am sunday morning. We will wait for any slow coaches until 9:45

Those in Darlington and surrounding areas who want to meet at our house, could you be there for no later than 9:10am

We will then travel the A66 to just pass "Barnard Castle" to the first laybay AFTER where the A67 joins the A66, this will be for "Phil" & "Jay"

Then straight down the A66 to the Tebay Services (right this time) for a quick cuppa.

Those travelling from the south, can meet up with the rest of us at the BBQ area at the Lake District for 12:30.

The BBQ/Picnic Area is located at the following point for GPS users:

LAT: 54.37998 deg N
LON: 2.91818 deg W

Just near "Miller Howe" on the A592 - Windermere

Map:

Once we've had lunch and cleared away, we would hope to leave this area at approx 2 - 2:30pm ish

THE DRIVE

For the route have a look at: (ignore the short leg going SOUTH from the BBQ area)

Image

Basically its a total of 31miles broken into two legs for refreshment/chill out breaks.

15 miles then call in to the "Yewdale Hotel" for whatever beverage takes your fancy and a chance for the ladies to powder their noses ;-)

then another 15 miles and stop at the "Swan Hotel" (a fav of Tony). this marks the end point of the route so when we leave here will be whenever everyone is ready.

Then steady ride :-) back to Co Durham with maybe a stop off on the A66 if everyone's up for it.

HOPEFULLY that all makes sense and it all works out on the day.

I am also going to email each of you more detailed instructions on the route and meeting point, I will also enclose my mobile number, if you can email me back with your number we can then keep in contact on the day if anyone gets lost.

Dont forget to bring some food/drink and a portable BBQ although if its like last year we will all just muck in with one big barbie.

Any other questions or queries then feel free to EMAIL me at: [email protected]

Thanks and see you all sunday.
