Tatton Park Classic Show - MK1 Club

Post by mr2mk1chick »

MK1 Club Event:

The 19th Tatton Park Vintage Classic & Sportscar Show.
19th & 20th August 2006

The Northwest Region will be hosting the MR2 Mk1 Club pitch at this show, car (inc 2 passengers) entry is by ticket, and camping is available.
Past years have seen full use of the ticket allocation by Mk1's, so you need to book your (free) ticket early.
If you have a Mk1, you will be made very welcome, so come along and enjoy the show!

The MK1 Club Organiser for this event is John Redmond:

As this is a 2 day show, we need to know whether you would like to come for sat, sun or both.

We don't know for sure yet how many tickets we will be allocated, but have asked for a 25 car pitch. The numbers will therefore be finalised closer to the event, so get your names down early.

Tatton Park CANCELLED

Post by John R »

Hello Everybody.

Tatton Park Classic and Sports Car Show

CANCELLED

I'm pretty annoyed about this :x .

Apparently the organisers 'Cheshire Auto Promotions' have 'forgotten' to allocate the Mk1 club tickets. This only came to light after an enquiry was made as to the arrival date of our tickets. A request was made for more, but we have been told that 'no space is available'.

Please accept my apologies on this matter.

If the situation changes I'll make sure that it is well publicised.

John Redmond

The DC offered John 5 spare places, which have been given to some of the really keen north west people who really wanted to go who were on the list.
Thanks to the DC =D>

The DC are the drivers club - this is thier 'big' show for the north west mr2's
our mk1 stand normally gets ~20 cars the last few times, so we were really gutted to have been messed around regarding tickets.

The north west DC people have always been friendly when i have met them.

Hi Guys,

Allan the DC co-ord for the North West here.

Nice to see you at Tatton this weekend and what a weekend it was the Le Mans car certainly drew the crowns onto the stand and won best performance car at show!!!!

First Place for the MK1's

Saturday went to Jon Leech

and Sunday Jon Redmond

both were exceptional cars well done.

I will be speaking with Jo about maybe joining forces for at least one of the shows next year as I am able to get the display unit from Toyota GB, what do you guys think?

Hi Fazza (Alan),

Good to meet you at the weekend. I have posted some pics from the show in the MK1 forum. Feel free to copy any if you wish. Great weekend despite the rain and good to meet other enthusiasts.

I think joining up for a stand in the NW to make 1 (very big) stand is a great idea. Maybe opposit the TVR's with the Le Mans car in running form so when the TVR want to do their *cough* xxxxx *cough* waving we can silence them...

Thanks again,
Jon

I didn't see any faces i knew when i was at the show other wise i would of said hello. Great turnout and a great stand.

It was great to see this 'MR2 race model' for the kids to jump in and out of with big crazy grinning faces, and the chap that was explaining that each tyre costs a grand, much better than some pesky TVR, even if one did have a cossie engine!

Clubs joining side by side is a great idea. I'll have to find out about the DC in the meantime...

My partner in crime is really learning, she noticed this was AW11 alike. My dad nearly bought one of these in 1976 instead of haveing me, thank god my mom talked him around!

Should have just come up and introduced yourself to random people! We were all milling about or sitting under gazebos or in the hospitality wagon.

No, not a supercharger. It's an import auto limited or special edition with aircon, mirrored T-Bars etc. Belongs to a fellow NW MK1 Club member.
