The Mysterious Black Box

Post by prezjamin »

Bit of a wierd one this one guys, but i have just been looking around my car and have found a little black box under the seat with a wire coming out of it that dissapears under the carpet. My friend has also found this 'Mysterious Black Box' on his

We thought that it may be something to do with the immobiliser ? any ideas ?

Hi,

It could be the amp? If it's under the passenger seat?

Paul.

Its under the Drivers seat, it looks too small to be an amp. My mate says the wire in his heads off towards the transmission tunnell.

I have a black wire with a white connector clip on it. Assumed it was for the airbag (mine hasn't got one) :?

possibly a radio reciever for central locking.
The stock toyota one (when fitted) looks a little 'after market'

I noticed this a while ago on mine.
I was told it was to do with the standard alarm/immobiliser, while having my new alarm fitted. He said most mr2 s he had come across have them.

I was dissapointed, as i thought it was something exciting!!

I have this too and mine doesn't look very 'factory', it is just loose under the seat - not fixed to anything.
