Error Code 43 - Car stalls at idle. Help please!

Just put £40 of opti in the tank, gone for a 15 - 20 mile STEADY run as im still bedding in some cams/shims.

Anyway after a quick blat down the A1, I pulled off onto a slip road and the car stalled! I restarted the engine and drove down the road to a mates house.

Now the car just stalls at idle, the revs drop and it just packs in. Checked ECU and got code 43 Which apparently shows as "STA Indicator".

Now the car seems to run fine as long as I keep the revs up, but can anyone help me please as I've only just got the car back and got it MOT'd today so was looking forward to some good driving!

P.S I've not changed anything except to add a short shifter and HKS induction kit since i got it back a couple of days ago.

No "STA" to the ECU means no supply from ST2 on ignition switch which is fed from fuse AM2 7.5A

so replace that fuse

Code 43 STA meaning STARTER SIGNAL--NO "STA" SIGNAL TO ECU UNTIL ENGINE SPEED EXCEEDS 800RPM.

This code will be thrown is there is no pickup at the Throttle position sensor. Check for resistance on TPS see here under throttle body..

there is resistance then its fine and sounds like a wire has broke down

Read that and also spoke to Peter Gidden who thought it may be the ISC valve sticking.

Code 43 apparently is when the car has been bump started (which I will have done when slowing for a junction and the car has cut out) because it means that the car has been started without a starter signal.

i had exactly the same problem, turned out a vacuum pipe connected to the sensor thats right next to the diagnostic terminals was damaged and that was making the car stall, but not triggering a fault code, but got that fault code 43

I found it to be the actual stop that the valve sits on when the accelerator is released. I've adjusted that out a little more now and it seems to be ok, just back from a run to test it. All seemed ok.

I've also lubed up the spring on the valve as is was sticking slightly, so when you release accelerator softly, it doesnt stall but when your sharp off, it allowed it to 'snap' back with more force and with the stop screwed too far in, it would stall, if you see what im saying.
