BP Ultimate 102 RON fuel

Found a garage near me selling BP 102 ron fuel near me,it's about £2.30 a litre(roughly) and you have to lift the pump then push a button to confirm you've accepted the price and then start pumping.I'm gonna go fill up my car this afternoon (when it stops raining ) and report back

im sure u can get 106ron in drums for the equivelent of £2.50 a litre.

Up to 50-60hp if it's mapped for it.

As has been mentioned, unless its mapped (more agressive timing + boost) then it ain gonna do squat.

How much of that 50-60bhp would you lose if you had to fill up on non 102ron fuel... and would it have a negative effect on running due to being mapped for the higher ron?

that extra 50-60 bhp is great, but for constant use plus the chance of BP phasing it out after a while & then being left with needing a re-map back to Optimax again for half the price, is it worth it?

Their are only a limited amount of BP stations running this fuel, info can be found on the BP site.

I personally think that this is a good thing to be honest and I will most certainly be giving it a go. If it yields extra power i'll have another map stored on the Motec in order for track days etc and of course a map for Optimax for general use

The prices are just RIDICULOUS. How much is this going to make the full tank go to? I can just about squeeze £50 in the beams....thats on tesco 99 ron or optimax..

As it didn't stop raining today I never went back to fill my car up,but if it's dry tomorrow I'll be going straight down there.As I currently only use about £20 to £30 a month on fuel,I can afford to use this fuel.I'm hoping that even without having the car remapped I'm going to notice a lower knock level on the FC commander.I think the fuel is too expensive but at least I now have access to a high octane fuel,that our cars were designed to use.

Most people have missed the point of this fuel. 102ron is basically race fuel, BP have released this for people who want more for track days etc. and not for everyday road use. To use this everyday would be ridiculous and means you have far too much money. But for people with aftermarket ecu's that can fill up and then load up a different map for the day to make the use of it at the strip or track it's a fantastic idea. You then just load back i the normal road map when you've finished and go back to normal 97/98.

If you look how much 102ron race fuel costs, then you'll see £2.30 isn't actually that bad at all.

You have massive detonation problems and probably blow the engine.
