In truth your probably better off in terms of handling with the 16" rims:)

In terms of looks..... the design of the spokes bending back in as it reaches the lip gives the allusion of making them look smaller than they actually are to me. A design with straighter spokes will always make the rim look bigger than it is, possibly a better idea when rolling on 16" rims ;)

i drove one with 17"s on and it handled like a shoppin trolley in my humble opinion so thats why i went for the 16"s....not my ideal choice of design but 150 squid with good tyres im not complaining......theres probably loads of you with 17"s on that handle like a dream and i agree they do look great but i think the 16"s are a very good comprimise.....has n e 1 fitted 235/50/16 to the rear on a 7.5" rim.....just wondered if this would fill out rear arch and improve grip even more ?

That would have most likely been down to bad geometry and or tyres. Trust me when I tell you that after a certain power point you find yourself glad of the 17" rims ;)
