Scottish Rev 5 GTturbo t bar for sale, beware.

Post by ryan »

Went to look at this car for a friend on MR2oc while I was in Glasgow for the weeekend, basically the car has at some point had a rear passanger side impact (or got scratched coming off the boat as the vendor said  ). The boot carpet was damp, and the metal felt very uneven on the passanger side of the boot. You could fit your fingers between the engine lid and boot panel gap! The spray job on the rear end was awful, and at dusk, when I viewed the car I think it was more obvious!
The bloke wants 6700 for the R plate 50k miles car, but he is obviously having problems selling the car. It was registered in the UK 9 months ago, and the bloke whos selling it says he bought it off a mate who has got a garage. The new seller sells cars 'on the side'.
The car has lots of guages inside, as well as a half roll cage and some toggle switches to the right of the steering wheel, so I guess its been used on trackdays in Japan

The car is/was on E bay, so trhis is just a warning not to waste any of you guys time on bidding/viewing the car

Shame really as the colour is very rare, and I quite liked it :?

Yes , thats the one, with the odd rev2 spec black sills and front and rear splitters. :?
It looks nice enough in the pics, and that gold colour is really different.

Very nice she is... and completely original. I do think however the best std alloys are the rev 4 diamond cut jobbies. I always thought the rev 5 wheel spokes too thin. Personal preference though i guess, you've a beauty mate, look after her :D

ps, I was looking at that gold Mr2 for a mate, cant afford another  MR2

I've seen that car advertised for ages too. He's dropped it in price recently, might be having trouble selling it because of the tell tell signs!

Mica beige to give it it's Toyota name - a Japanese revision 5 only colour along with mica orange.
