JE Piston Rings

Post by Stuart »

Im lookng for a replacement set of JE rings to suite 86.5mm pistons. Reason being is I dont think my oil control rings have sealed correcty.

Question is does anyone know of a supplier who can get me some?

Thanks

The car is using oil... more than it should. I followed the recommened run in period given to me my the company who did the machine work for me.

I had the turbo checked and it was fine
I can smell oil when I pull up at a junction / lights
When gearing down I some times get a cloud of blue smoke. This usualy happens when coming to a round about and putting throttle back on.
I dont think its the valve stem oil seals as it doesnt smoke when first started
It also doesnt smoke when on idle or general driving.

I took it out a few days ago and gave it a run about mixing crusing and low boost 0.6 but couldnt see any blue smoke. All I can think it that the oil control rings are not sealed correctly.

I used Corma Running in oil for 600 miles then moved to semi synth as advised by the company who machined the block. I have since moved back to mineral following advice from a few people to see if the rings will bed in.

Im starting to think that it might have been incorrectly bored.

I started to introduce boost after about 500 miles again under the advice of the company who did the machine work.

I thinking of putting in a new set of rings.
