Driving the beast

Post by bidtowin »

Ok, i have owned the car for 2 days now, what is the best way to drive them?

I mean i sometimes hold on at 4200 revs and it pulls back, like jerks, could this be because it doesnt have a fuel cut defender? Also sometimes it feels quick, and sometimes not so quick.

Anyone got any tips?

Its a rev1 with around 245BHP and 259 torque *recorded at power engineering.

Thanks

if its running that power i would assume the boost has been increased at some stage and therefore should have a fcd fitted. Is your engine management light coming on when this happens. Also fuel cut would be more like hitting a brick wall rather than a jerking motion, perhaps it is misfiring.

in my exeprience a car that jerks when coming off boost either has a dodgy wastegate or dumpvalve! i could be wrong though! :)

No light coming on, i think i may be a little brutal with it, the accel is very responsive, and when im backing off im backing off to much.

Where could i see if it has a FCD?

Thanks

That's your problem, it's a Rev1 (ie has an Air Flow Meter). Never seen/heard of this happening on a Rev3+, or with a car that's had the AFM removed and a standalone in place.
