9am till 4pm for £40 at North Weald Airfield - 8th Sept

I have been asked by the MGs-on-Track organisers to see if there is any interest in a joint day (at North Weald) for MG's and MR2's.

I guess there could be enough interest to be IMOC only but IMO far better to sell out quickly rather than worry about an under-subscribed event?

TBH I would rather see 20 MR2s. I dont think this is an impossable number. Ive posted links to here on mr2oc so hopefully between us we can get 20 cars. Its only been a couple of days since the original post by Frank. If it gets closer to the time we could open the offer out to mates with other cars to fill the spaces. I think the problem at the moment is that people rarely read the motorsport section of this forum ( I know I dont). Are we allowed to put a sticky in the general or event section to advertise this event for more owners to view?

Regarding our day, as it's timed it'll add a certian competitive element to it. I can't see us having any problems getting numbers given the location and cost.

I dont think MG on track are organising another day untill next year. They look for 40 cars to attend and only let non MGs come along last minute to boost numbers. I had to phone the main man at MG on track the day before the event then he was reluctant to let 2 non MGs to come along. Glad he agreed though because it was great!

Cool. Get them to add there names to this thread. Perhaps Frank could edit his first post to create a list of all members who have shown interest. Then we can set a date for sure.

UPDATE ~
I've provisonally booked online FRIDAY 8th SEPT.


What i will do is confirm with them the total cost, from there I will request full individual payment from you before Friday 4th August (cost to be based on 20 people).

As per the Rolling Road days people always drop out so the upfront payment is because I have to pay the Organisers 4 weeks in advance to our day (8th Sept).

If we do not get the numbers (it's not going to happen tho is it ) a full refund will be made to you.
So basically if you pay - you play !

PLEASE NOTE - as per Rory's experience - this day is run with one car on the airfield at a time.
It's not a trackday in the usual open pitlane type format - just so everyone's clear.

~ on track do your thing, back to the holding area and watch the next guy go round.. and then the next .. etc etc .. then you are back on again ..
FYI Rory went on a day with more runners than the 20 we are proposing and he had a great time.

Final comment -
I'll let people know the price each person pays once the Organisors have finalised our overall bill.
