I "love" the way dealers list all the un-important things when it comes to performance cars lol.

Gotta say, I reckon a lot of the appeal of the MR2 comes from the shape of the rear three-quarters. Not just cos it looks like a Ferrari Dino, but just cos it's nicely styled.
Losing the roof removes a lot of the cars identity for me.
Just looks like a 3/5th scale model of a mid-90s Corvette or something.

I used to have a TR8 convertible and that had the same problem. Looked OK with the roof down but kinda weird with the roof up. Of course, another problem with it was that it was built in the UK in the 70's so nothing fitted or worked properly and it'd go rusty if it ever got near water.

There was a Spyder that used to come to the Bluewater meets.
Apparently there were 16 officially in the UK.

What caused the crap look is that rear window, part of a mid engine cars character is based on the shape of the rear window. Also it contributes to stiffening the chassis IIRC !

Remember the old Jag XJS coupe thingy? That has the same shape rear window - was originally gonna be mid engined apparently!

Something I read dunno what it was referring too!
Prob 16 offically imported by TRD or allocated originally or something.

Probably just means 16 have been imported from Japan - sounds about right I guess (I might have put it at less). Toyota didn't sell any over here, am pretty sure of that (unless a dealer somewhere imported some as greys?).

Personally I think they look crap from all angles :(
Roof up or down!

Also - no factory turbo's so you pay a premium for a heavy car with the lower power option.

The "Spyder" was not made directly by Toyota. It was a conversion manufactured in limited amounts by another company. I know this because I read it in an MR2 history book that is sitting in Rogue Systems waiting room...in fact there are two that both quoted the same fact. Unfortunately I can't remember who the party was. If anyone is going to Rogue....have a look. Could have been TRD?
