I know it's naughty and all that but i havn't really nailed the tubby off a set of lights since owning it yet, so this was the perfect opportunity.

I was sitting at a set of lights in a 40 zone when this youngish lad pulls up next to me in his Impreza Turbo with 2 mates in the car egging him on.

So he revs up his engine and is sitting on his clutch, while i just sat there looking in the opposite direction.

lights go to amber.

He hammers it away

(it's wet) but he doesnt seem to get the power down, so me being a little competative nails it off the line with minimum loss of traction on the wheels and upto 40 then into 4th and cruise along while he catches me up, flies up my inside and cuts infront of me.

So we enter a 70mph zone, side by side, again he drops a gear a guns it away.

i naturally do the same, into third, and start to pull away from him upto a roundabout.

Both into second gear and exit the roundabout neck to neck.

a little depression of the right foot from me and bye bye Mr Subaru.

My Rev3 tubby claims a good 5 car lead on an uphill stretch leaving a very embarrased but persistant Impreza turbo driver behind me.

I slow down and pull into the inside lane and he screams past with the

'usual' flashing of indicators that ive heard about so much.

TBH i was just surprised at how much more powerfull the tubby was than the impreza.

It wasnt a new one, maybe 3 or 4 years old.
