Did Rev5 Tubby ever come in T-bar ?

specifically the late rev5 (ie the cosmos blue)

I was told by a chap in the know at MR2004 last year that they didn't (no names but he has written all sorts on Mr2's in the MR2DC handbook.


But today I've been told that Toyota did do REV5's in t-bar as another member went to look at one to buy.

there's a rev5 t-bar turbo for sale on ebay at the mo. whether it's authentic is another story though

Apparently Toyota sold around 2000 rev5s in Japan, and I've heard that there were only a limited number of BEAMS engines - perhaps as many as 1,000... Don't think they sold many G models (3S-FE) so there's at least 1,000 rev5 tubbies out there (or 'was'). Can't imagine them all being tintops, on saying that though, can't say for definite that I've seen an import rev5 t-bar - but I'm sure there is....

Yes you can get JDM rev5 T-Bar's although only a handful have been imported into the Uk I believe.

PS. I used to have a rev5 T-bar In Cosmos Blue - but that was a UK N.A like yours.

Yes, there some revision5 t-bar turbos (I tried to import one some years back in cosmos blue with practically delivery mileage, but got beaten to it). They do seem to be rarer than a rare thing though.

Don't think they sold many G models (3S-FE)

The "G" model in Japan was equipped with a 3SGE engine. Only the UK market got the 3SFE.
