Reseting needles after change of dials

Post by Greddyfreddy »

Does anyone know how to "reset" the needles of the speedo and RPM?

I have changed my dials and had to move the needles now they are showing speed and rpm totally wrong. I have heard that you can take them to an car electrician and they will fix it cheap.

But im wondering if someone could give me a few pointers on how to do it my self.

thank you.

HAHAHAHA

I did this when I changed mine from KM/H to MPH. I just drove infront of my dad with the dashboard plugged in but without the screen on and when he hit 30 he flashed his lights and I pinned the needle in.

Then I went behind him and I flashed my lights when I hit 30 and so on to get it perfect. Yes it was time consuming!

Regarding the REVS you needs to do the same, but it would need to do it with a car with a 2.0 litre engine and similar torque, otherwise they will be different!

You could try and put the needle on whilst hitting the rev limiter!!

Would be fun to watch

I aciidently took mine off when I fitted my speedhuts. I took them off, then got a phone call, 'yeah mate, those speedhut dials are good, and you don't need to take the needles off'

I let the car warm up, then put the needle on what I remember to be idle, perfect now. For the speedo, I did a similar method to hedgehog dodger, drove behind someone at 160mph (only joking :D ) at 30mph. Its a little out, but I don't look at it often anyway.

My temp is out too, but I know where it sits now, and will notive if it goes any higher.

right then Russ.....

a) You wanted your exhaust to sound more like mine! Defo not my fault though!
b) ok ok ok! We'll fit the damn AVCR. Though just the boost module bit for now, I don't want to be chopping into the wiring harness or anything.
c) poof
