WARNING!...OS GIKEN CLUTCHES....WARNING!...SOS

Post by Harry »

well what can i say what can we say :?:

:( :x    =;  [-X :silent: :ncool:

bought an os giken clutch here off imoc advert described as good going
concern to have thor/peter/nod kindly inspect it before fitting for
dave/dangerous.

well thors expert engine builder/engineer has inspected the os giken clutch
as being totally condemed to scrap due to the fact that it got so much
abuse and heat that the internals are warped to such a degree that this
clutch kit is unrepairable.

if this unit was sold as is/seen take youre chances then fair enough my
problem but as it was described as good i will be expecting a full refund.
we expect this to happen as we suspect the seller is honourable and has
been "CONNED" by the person he bought it from, saying it was all good.

well the seller to me might count his lucky stars that this unit was checked
by thor and not just put straight in a car then taken out to duplicate
this cost/excersise.

he might have been sued like this if it had occured, well i would have got it
first then passed him down the line...

cost of purchase of the damged beyond repair osgiken clutch..x amount
cost of workshop insilation duplicated to fit remove maybe? 700
cost of courier to thor 25
if not resolved lawyers costs as we would win x amount
loss of turnover me x amount

no names are mentioned as yet as expect a positive result in the way of
a refund to my paypal account as paid in good faith.

how ever if this is not resolved we will...(7days)(paid with in 14 days)

this experience has left a very very bad taste and is not right and we will
never again buy any form of used clutch ever again. :(

Yes mate, I agree, theres loads of dishonest sellers

I try and detail an item perfectly so then it doesnt lead to dissapointment, I treat people in a way id like to be treated too....

but give the person you bought it off a chance, maybe the clutch WAS ok in his mr2 :-k

live and learn eh...

Harry yeah its not very good when you buy something as good/perfect 'top quality' etc. etc. and when you get its a load of cr4p . just hope it dosnt take 2 months to get a refund and endless phone calls then threating with solicitors etc. etc.

you know what i'm talking about !!!!!! one word for you ' LOUVRE'

Ok ok...

atm this thread stands because it makes no mention of the person selling. As such it is a user's experience.

However, IMOC would like to make a couple of things clear:
1. Private sales, through the site or otherwise, are always buyer beware.
2. Do not use IMOC as a tool to sort grievances. You may post an experience to warn others, as long as there is no reference to the other party involved. If an 'experience' thread descends into name calling etc, it will be locked and possibly moved.
3. Buyers and sellers should always sort out grievances between themselves, privately.

Dam Harry,

Thats a shame, I hope you get a quick/good resolution to this situation.

I must confess that I do tend to trust IMOC members more than I would trust joe public or ebay people. If I was told an item was in a certain condition then thats how I would expect it to be (within reason) and if it came from an IMOC member I wouldn't have even thought of getting it checked I would just assume that its OK.
