More names required..!!!

Ideally we need around 20 cars to make this even more special so at the moment we are nearly half way there, please try and commit if you can, don't miss this one.
What about the people from the North West, we need your support.
What about the people from the Midlands, make a weekend of it.!!! Beer and fun with the Clubs - its what its all about.

What about the TwoBrutal people - would be great to get some 1.5's on the run.

Would be great to have some Roadsters on the run too.!!!

Cheers
Michael

What about the Scottish contingent coming down to this? It would be a nice run out for the cars and yourselves. Geographically, you have to be the closest to Kielder I would think? Anyone travelling and staying over, might be interested to know, there is a "Steam, Glorious Steam" traction engine rally, on the day before, the 6th at Beamish Museum, Chester Le Street. A fabulous day out, at Beamish, who have a number of classic car meets throughtout the year. Check out their web-site. =D>

If I can get a replacement gearbox sorted out this month then I'd love to tag along (smooth roads only though!).

Checked out a couple of route options over the weekend and I think it's sorted. Did the forest drive today ( in a Jeep Cheroke ). It's a definate NO_GO for our cherished babies.
Anyone coming up to stay over would be best advised to stay in the Washington or Chester-le-street areas. The Church Mouse would be my
reccommendation and its a great night out in chester main street. I will probably come and join you for a couple.
I think a picnic lunch would be more suitable for the day although there is a very good pub/restuarant at Leaplish visitor centre where we will all end up eventually. The itinery proposed as follows:
Meeting point : Washington services northbound A1M
Time : 10:00 am
Route :Newcastle/ Otterburn/Carta Bar( foto on Scottish border )/ Otterburn/ Bellingham/ Leaplish on the shore of the lake.
Lunch break : Lots of facilities here, picnic areas ,toilets, hot food,
swimming pool, mini golf etc. etc. Pub lunch is around 7 quid for a main course and is NO SMOKING through-out.
Return Leg : Bellingham/ Wark/ Wall/ Acomb/ Hexam. From here its easy access to A69 N/cle or Carlisle or south on A68.
I will prepare a detailed map etc. as a hand-out on the day.
LETS HAVE SOME MORE NAMES ON THE LIST PLEASE!!!!Mac

Good news for those that are wanting a BBQ. Just spoken with the Water Authority and we can have BBQ's as long as they are enclosed and we behave sensibly. By enclosed he meant a disposable BBQ should be surrounded by rocks to prevent spreading of flames, you know, as the cowboys always do in the westerns. I guess water should always be at hand also just incase. Not that there will be a shortage of that.

Hopefully, for those of us who like our meals, a little less Al Fresco, is there somewhere on the route, to get a decent pub meal? Everybody to their own, but BBQ's do nought for me!! :-# :-#

No pubs for about 20 miles. You will have to starve.

Mac previously stated that there is a pub lunch at the Leaplish visitors centre.

I take offence Caroline. I am renown for my BBQ skills. Speciality - Great Dane steaks.   :eye:

Hmmmmmmmm, oh dear, does this mean we have to rough it and have BBQ food!! I may pass on the Great Dane steaks, a bit of kangaroo would be nice though, any sightings recently in Kielder?? Thought Stu had a mate who has a pub and that was the intended lunch site?? Not to worry, we'll manage somehow!! Cheers Tony!!

Think you picked that up wrong Caroline. I was joking about the 20 miles to a pub. Second line of my previous post, there is pub food at Leaplish where we will be stopping.

Sorry for confusion. Any chance of bringing that dog of yours.

Hi, we won't be stopping at a pub until the end of the route, best thing to do is bring a packed lunch, BBQ etc. There will be the opportunity at the visitors centre for hot food and coffee but I'm sure that will be later in the day.

Looking good - cheers

There is a pub at the end of the first leg and it was OK last weekend. It's where I'll be eating. See you there Caroline!!!

Well done Tony for checking with the water people. I forgot to mention it in the brief last week. I thought Leaplish was a better alternative to a pub lunch en-route. I checked out the hotel Stu told me about, the lunch was 11.95 for 2 courses but they have another car rally there that day and it would have been to busy. At leaplish we are all in the same place with any option that takes your fancy.
Any other questions????
Caroline, Happy???
