Na fella you've read me wrong... i was just saying if anyone wanted to try and push me to go quicker they'd have no chance.

It's a real shame sometimes that when i caught up with a car that they sped up..... i wanted to film the car's, overtakin them, them overtakin me...... next time im gonna get a couple of big sticker for the front and back of my car..... CAMERA CAR.... so we can get some good footage.

I could have been part of RX7mark's team, I was following Rich in the Red RX7.... though at first I was leading it at one point and messed it up for everyone lol.... if anyone recalls me in the blue MR2 doing a 3 pointer, then another 3 pointer as I was confused by the other 3 MR2's in front of me breaking off! Lol. Was pure comedy pointing to people this way please lol!

Really don't often push the car, was really good fun I have to admit with the Supra follwing me. It wasn't to the point I thought it was dangerous though. Never fault like I was 'on the limit'

I think Mark was a couple of cars behind me in the silver RX7 so massive apologies if we were going too fast for you, my theory was we had to go a bit faster to avoid bunching up and caterpillar effects. There were points when we were breaching the speed limit and I heed to when that happened. The only time I knowingly went OTT was by the lake on that sweepin upwards bend. I dip my head in shame, but it wasn't to show off I assure you. I'm driving an NA and can't prove anything cos I have nothing! Lol

Definitely more widespread use of walkie talkies is required. I never got one in the end.

Just in my defence, I'll just (and can only) follow the leader and they can be the pace setter next time of the group. Split the groups into three 1) fast 2) normal speeds 3) Leisurely

Big apologies once again! Sorry Mark!

I must admit I was a bit guilty of that and at times on the way back I was having to hoof a fair bit it to keep up with the RX7 (but thoroughly enjoying the chance to open up the Starion for a change), but then realised that not everyone was following and tried to slow down a bit. Having never done one of these sorts of things before I wasn't entirely sure what the crack was. I shall modify my driving style for next time.

Edit - what's going on with quotes?

this is the problem with this sort of thing, everone had differnt veiws on whats quick and whats going ott and i dont think we will ever get it so everyone is happy, its just not possible.

i think people should just drive at what they are comfortable with and not worry about the other cars in the convoy but will try and split into 2-3 groups next time.

i will be leading as i owe it to tom as he had to lead on both legs due to my car going fubar on me, and i wouldnt say im a slow driver. so on the next one if you want to go quickly then i suggest you get near the front and if you dont then try and get yourself towards the rear. should make things abit better hopefully.

well thats the theory anyway.

Without going into to much detail.... i was a passenger in a scooby 6 years ago... the driver was showing off crashed the car and nearly killed me, spent alot of time in hospital.... it happened in the wet, so on sunday i was omg mark slow down..... so SwissHeavy you have nothing to be sorry for, mark loved it and doesnt feel we were going OTT at all... I just get a little scared in wet weather....
Im fine in the dry weather, ask mr2tom, ive hung off the back of both there bikes filming them...

I believe i met some lovely people on sunday.... would have loved to chat to you all.... was asking all day who Spittinflames was cos his posts make me laugh so much, bless him...deffo have to say hi if we meet up again.... the guy in the blue 2 with the real radio, wow would have loved to play on that....lol
oh and the guy in the skyline....great chap, was lovely to meet him... All the people i spoke to sunday were lovely, really nice and made Mark and i feel welcome
I vote to keep it mixed, there arent alot of us jap owners about, we all have great cars and should stick together, it doesnt matter what we drive... we all have a passion for jap cars...

Sorry if i went on ..... roger roger 10/4 mrs mark signing off...over and out.....lol \:D/ \:D/

i think it should be left open but split into groups as previously mentioned...... i know i'd be in the 'leisurely group' ! was good to see a variety of cars on the day even though i didn't see that many at the pub !

Leaving is good as i may have to come in my other car next time !

I personally think it would be better if people left in small groups of maybe 2 - 4 cars or even individually if they want to, I found last weekend good, but was frustrated by being stuck behind slower cars on the twisties, and then being left behind by turbo power on the straights.

I tend drive the cat and fiddle at night and most of the time when its raining, so i'm fairly used to it, and I know my limits. Driving in the daytime when its damp was like a dream, but not everyone was familiar with that road so some people were taking it very carefully.

If people want to form their own groups with people of similar ability / driving style / and horsepower, I think that can only be a good thing.

agreed, i got stuck at the temporary lights just before the cat so had a clear run and caught up with the rest of the crue. i think if i hadnt have done that then the hole day would have been disapointing as the rest of the journey i couldnt really push and my exhaust start blowing badly losing power :(

ill be going in front next time so if you want to drive quickly then come with me. also when i did the lakes run i found we were doing a reasonable pace but seemed to get into abit of groove and got boring after awhile on the final leg so me and stu started to hang back until we couldnt see the car infront anymore then give it some stick and catch them up.

might be an idea for people who are wanting to push hard but cant because of other cars.

i think the only suggestion i have is as well as splitting into 2/3 groups is waiting for others if it's obvious someone just got stuck in traffic. i got lost in bakewell (apologies to those following me  ) as i was following and hadn't read the route and it was difficult to do on me own whilst driving :)

if you make it open for all i'll definitely be up for another run!

Hiya mrs mark,
Sorry i didn't come over and chat, i was a bit unsure who mark was and which rx7 was yours... i take it it's the silver beast i was drooling all over (sounds mint by the way) I suppose i should of just sat in all 3 rex's and waited for someone to come over and say " ohh you found my car then" .... mind you when i first got there..... hicks came over and shook my hand... i then wandered over to a group of people.... i think it was by your car.... and said " are any of you hicks" lol ffs.... some nice person said yeah the guy who just shook ya hand... thats hicks.. lol b0ll0x...

Will chat next time.... and i definatly want to sit in that car \:D/ he promised aswell  anyway's excellent run...i'll get back to me editing of the video.... hopefully im gonna put the drive past one up in a min......... listen to your car go past..... reminds me the fast and furious kinda sounds =P~

cat and fiddle

Post by mr2sexyok »

i must say i realy enjoyed it on sunday .i know i didnt mix well but my mate sulli was on his way down to meet me on saturday ,but suffered an epoleptic fit at the wheel and wrote his car off into a lampost in stockport town center. the car is a mess sulli came out of hospital today and is just suffering from shock, cracked rib and very bad bruising. quite strange for somebody that has never had fits b4. well unfortunatley thats one less mr2 on the road now but he says he will co-pilot me on the next one. keep it open to all cars.
