Post by Gaz! »

Thanks for the link mate, ive sent them a very polite email asking if it would be ok. Ive said that if I dont hear anything then I take it they dont object.
Hopefully this will be ok.

Umm... this has got realy big now I was expecting about 10-15 cars not 50+ . The plans were to meet up at the Vue and then take a drive to a pub then have a run down the a420, but with 50+ cars I dont think thats gunna be possible. Trying to get us lot thro all the roundabouts and stay together will be impossible.

So we'll see what happends on the day and how many people turn up.
If theres any locals out there that can think of somewhere to drive were we wont get split up please post up.

Thanks

If you get stuck I know a nice lady who runs castle coombe - as long as it isnt a special day we could also use that place as a location - bags of space but not as easy to get too as Vue.

Well we could start off at the Vue then convoy around the m/way to coombe? Would be one hell of a convoy!

Im just thinking that a run down the 420 would be impossible with out losing half the people.

What you recon mate?

Gaz, bear in mind that even though 50 people have said they will go, it is unlikely that they will all turn up. Something happens and normally at least a 1/3 either do not make it or get lost etc.

There could always be maps provided to get to Castle Combe. Could do more then one convoy, one for the MK1s and one for the MK2s.

That's not to put a downer on the meet, if even 30 turn up that is a massive meet compared to some of the ones that are on here and that are run regularly.

Ok guys slight change of plan ive been emailed back from cribbs management and there happy for us to have this meet but not at the Vue.

As this is over a bank holiday weekend, the car park will be very busy.
We would like to suggest you use car park H at The Mall. This is
situated near the coach park. We hope this will be suitable.

Regards

Sara

So there we are its gonna be H car park at the mall not at the vue.

I will see if I can get a map of the car parks.

Sweet IIRC H is near the marks and spencers end and i have never seen a car in it - so we shouldnt have any issues.

Now we need to think of a pub with big car park.

Nice - car park H will be quiet. and no monster speed bumps to get over either (Vue has a new super large bump on the way in now). :D

Weston is a serious treck.

James - surely you know somewhere local?

Don't know whether I'll make it now - I'm marshalling a road rally in Southampton on the Saturday night, so depending what time I get home and how much sleep I've got by sunday lunchtime I probably won't be in a fit state to drive. If I can stay awake, the car will also be going for the "rally slag" look, rather than show-and-shine

What are your trying to imply ...

I can think of alot of places but probably not anywhere that could house 50 cars.

I will have a ponder.

Good thing its not at Vue otherwise the AE86 wouldnt get past the first speed bump without ripping the front lip off, smashing the exhaust to bits and grounding out. My car grounds out going over the white markings on the road.
