What is it about the '2'

Post by Fidgits »

Okay, i think its fair to say a majority of members are 'very much into their 2', and as a person looking into buying one - I'm just interested in what it is about them that you like so much?

Bang for buck
Pop up headlights (OK maybe a bit old fashioned nowadays but I still love 'em)
I like the handling...erm...

The engine sits about 10 inches behind your head, and rear wheel drive.

Easily modifiable for high rates of performance turbo wise, it doesnt take much to get an extra 20 - 30 bhp while on standard cars it does :p

Simply because it's 'mid-engined', that alone makes it quite special IMO :)

2 seats and rear wheel drive help too :D

I bought mine for the electric folding mirrors, scum can't kick them off without having to stop for a second!

Still trying to buy one, nothing in the auto-trader that fits what I want though..

For me, the design of the MR2 is excellent. Not only is it a sports car but it looks like one too. Styling thesedays is too bland and samish. I used to hate popup headlights but my mate bought a 1990 Celica and they slowly won me over. Now I love them but I prefer quads.

Two seats is going to be a problem as every now and then I'm a taxi for my parents when they occasionally go out.

T-Bars are great. Love it to bits :D

for me, the first think that attracted me to the car over 10 years ago now (well before I could drive!!) was the looks - damn she's fine!! Apart from the F355, I think she's the best looking car around, no question!!

Love the mid-engine rear-wheel drive setup, and of course the fact that they're so damn reliable - providing you treat them well!!

mmmmmmmmmm

For me, it's pretty much everything mentioned above (apart from the Ferrari bit!) as the MR2 is the complete package as far as I'm concerned.

Great to look at, great to drive, and yet so stupidly impractical that it puts 'extra' passengers from bumming lifts and stuff or being used as a shopping car.

Love it. :D

AWD is for those that can't handle RWD, surely? ;)
