Have only had the car for a few days and can confirm the following. Women, in general, not bothered about the car at all. Men either want to race you, glare at you...or smirk at you if they have a sporty car that is newer than yours. Kids on the other hand ...LOVE IT. Drove to a mates the other nice and one of the local snotters shouted out "Nice car mister!". I wanted to go all Dick Van Dyke on him and rub his head and tell him to save his pennies and work hard....didn't though cos I think these days you can end up on the sex offenders register for things like that.

I never seem to get waves back from other MR2 owners, but I used to in my old shape Saab 900! (from other saabs of course)

I used to get a lot more attention in my Capri than in the MR2, as in people looking at me as I drove past, people trying to race, or at petrol garages etc. Although I cant imagine why.

It does get annoying when people try and race you from lights just for the sake of it. You end up using double the petrol and double the clutch wear at every junction traffic light etc, otherwise you just know they'll pass you and sit in front going slowly and feeling smug.

I get mega attention but i think its actually the exhaust that initiates it lol. Get the eyes following me past every time. I think the noise makes them look round and the curiosity and confusion about what the car actually is keeps them looking. You would be surprised how many people don't know what a debadged mr2 with vielside kit actually is.

Your right about the kids but only because they are as bold as brass. You do get the odd person who will come up to a complete stranger to ask about their motor but not many. Kids on the other hand don't care and ask anyway. One kid asked me what kind of ferarri it was lol. It gets mistaken for a ferarri by a lot of people, mostly females and kids but i have had one bloke say "i couldn't afford one of those myself" i asked why, he said "ferarri's are far to expensive". Almost pi$$ed myself.
