Those who have revs dropping <800 at traffic lights etc.

Post by DeusMR2 »

SOLVED at long last!

Symptoms:

1. Revs dropping to around 700rpm when coming to a stop at traffic lights/speed bumps etc. and struggling to reach ~850rpm
2. Hesitation below 2000rpm

Totally new ignition components didn't help at all...
ECU reset didn't help either...

Also over the last few days the car has only been idling at around 650-700rpm. (At this stage I was thinking "oh ******* another air leak")
Battery died today a few hours ago out of the blue ](*,)

Bought a new battery (HB005) and all previous symptoms are gone!! (after the initial ECU reset period)

The ECU seems able to control the spark at low revs much more effectively now...when coming to a stop the revs drop quick to about 1000rpm then settle smoothly to around 850rpm. Car is also more responsive between idle at around 2000rpm.

Hope that helps a few people out, a thread with those symptoms comes up every few months and it's usually blamed on an air leak. Now gotta give my 2 a present for being nice :-k
