Departure 2 PRO

Post by craig »

I've got my Departure 2 PRO on the way from Jase, but just lately I've been reading about people saying theirs has rusted off and had to be welded and welded to keep it together!

Also saying it sounds crap and the quality sucks......thinking about selling it on when I get it rather than replacing the NUR SPEC.

Reading on MR2OC people say that the 2 different steels used on the exhaust cause the mild steel to rust faster

I'm gutted

If before I fit the Dept 2, I rub down the mild steel and coat it with a few coats of paint, will this suffice to protect it from corroding?

Cheers,

Craig :D

It certainly won't do any harm. Just make sure you use the high temp stuff. I think under the car the exhaust takes a fair battering from the elements/salt etc, so putting a few coats on, making sure its well covered will help no end.

Because with the nur spec, I can leave it on and not worry about having to take it off to spray it up :(
