Hi Spec Brake conversions anyone?
Hi
Just been on the phone to hispec about sorting a billet 4 conversion for the MKII. Would anyone be interested in a group buy?
Discounts would be -
5-10 kits = 15-20 percent discount!!!
Includes
2xcaliper (gold/black/silver)
2xrotors (Xdrilled or grooved)
2xAli Bells (300+mm rotors)
1xBracket set
1xHardware pack(300+mm rotors)
So for example the 300/22/28mm billet 4 conversion (front )@15% discount works out to be£575+VAT!
And the 285/24 (one piece vented discs) £408+VAt
Seems like a bargain.
Ill be back on line tomorrow morning so please PM me if you are interested and Ill try and get something definitive set up!
BTW kits do NOT have to be identical so all shapes and sizes accepted!
Cheers
Matt

That's just cheap! Are these kits completely bolt-on?

They need to make up a complete 4 wheel upgrade before its really worth doing. You're only going to upset the balance of brake bias by upgrading the fronts alone.
See if they could upgrade a rear set too.

Cantfindausername - They do mate!!!!
I was a little worried about that too but thy do a matching billet 4 caliper for the rear with integral handbrake etc etc...
Edwin - As far as I know yes... only thing I have noticed is that you will need to change hoses to ones with a banjo fitting? £30 for braided front pair tho!
Makes sense to go for braided lines anyhow if your going to use em hard.
Web site address is www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk

Phil-z : yeah, the rear conversion uses a 300mm disc and aprox price would be - £667+VAT
im just doing estimates on the 15% for the mo but as i said if we get enough interest i.e 10 sets (front and back would count as 2 i assume) then this could go up to a 20% discount.
If peeps are interested then PM me your address and ill get a full brochure and price list sent out to you!
cantfindausername - I dont know if the rear conversion is on web site but is in brochure/price list mate.
how good do these look!

Out of interest, what colour are you thinking? I think for me black anodized on a red car would be best, gold might be a bit loud, look at me..look at me, aren't my brakes pretty etc etc !

I think I'd go for gold. I take it black and gold are the only colours they offer?
i like the "look at these" bits on brakes. But I'm like that.
But then again, it might look wrong on a red car. Would ideally have red.

Yeah I wanted red too.
They do silver also, I originally wanted gold but thought they might clash.
Might ask for a sample of the gold anodized finish to see how it looks against red paint.

There are pictures under customers cars of red cars with gold brakes. I looked at the TVR as I didn't want to look at the ford. They offend my eyes.

I agree with contrast, but gold is a bit to close to bling to be contrast in my opinion.

Hi-spec brake conversion
Gentlemen I have the full Hi-spec kit on my track day car 325x30 monster4 on front and 300 billet4 with hand brake conversion on rear and have found them very effective with good pedal progressive. They can be kitted out with a wide variety of brake pad materials for track or road. Very easy to change pads service etc. When you speak to Geoff mention my name I might get a bigger discount next time Peter Foster in green rev3 turbo. Enjoy.

Re: Hi Spec Brake conversions anyone?
By the way I measured my rims/discs ect on sundayand the chap on the phone says the 60mm min clearance is from the top front edge of the intended disc to rear of spoke face.
ie on a 300mm diameter disk, measure up a radius of 150mm and then out at a rightangle 60 mm to see if you have clearance.
Hopefully brochures etc will arrive today or tommorrow
