[mk2 na] clutch recommendations

Post by trd2000mr2 »

Tried a search to no avail,

I think my clutch is going so basically looking to change. Has anyone used these EBC clutch kits from funkystyling?? About the same price, if not cheaper, than a standard clutch, but an uprated version...so can't be bad...right? :-k

http://www.funkystyling.co.uk/item_deta ... rodID=1700

Any experiences, advice greatly appreciated!

incidentally, since it seems that no-one has used these, what clutches are people running on their na's? Mostly stock? or uprated?

My tubby is running 252 at the wheels, put in a standard clutch and it started to slip after 60 miles to the point where as soon as boost cam up about about 7 psi revs went sky high!!

I went out and got an OS Giken Twin Plate jobbie from Japan.

An overkill i know but one hell of a beast!!

Pics in my garage!

hi mate,

Similarly to myself, you're probably going to experience troubles trying to find a good uprated clutch for the na. In the end Ive settled for the EBC item, not exactly uprated, but will be enough to handle the power of an na. Will let u know how it launches when i get it fitted this saturday

Didn't rate the EBC clutch had it two years 30,000 miles to go completely.
I really must drive hard! (didn't think i did!)

For an N/A you're never going to have slipping problems with the standard clutch, even if you throw a V6 in it!!

Just be aware of stiffer and less comfortable clutches when going aftermarket, not to mention additional noises etc.

I'd go standard myself, unless you do lots of traffic light gps and want to drop the clutch at 6k.
