Cam belt question

Post by Retribution »

friday some idiot smacked into the back of my car no real damage minor bumper scraped and his paint on the bumper only thing that annoyed me more was i just had the damn car back end resprayed under 48 hrs before as i had my mrd spoiler fitted and wanted it to blend in nice.

Anyway since the smack my car has been funny with me needing more revs to move like 3500 in 1st and 2nd take forever to go above 20 mph so i'm thinking that my cam belt has snapped but just wanted to check beforehand as the car is dangerous as is and takes forever to move the car hense wont drive till its fixed
Another question is could the smack have brought on this cam belt snapping and if so could i get it replaced under his insurance as he has admited liability?

You wouldn't be-able to drive it if the cambelt had snapped mate.

Get it checked over by a professional at the expense of the person that hit you.

Your engine would not start if the cam belt had snapped, sounds like somethings rubbing on the tyre or brakes have stuck on to me.

I have had a few modifications done to the car but that was about a month ago and can ran fine with em
I cant understand why the car takes such a long time to move and so much rev power needed, say if you cross a junction you can quickly get across normally but now i have to make sure theres nothing coming before i attempt to move the vehicle
