HI ALL, I TODAY ROADTESTED, A STUNNING BLACK 92 MR2 GTS TURBO, IT WAS AN AMAZING BIT OF KIT TO DRIVE... MY ONLY QUESTION REALLY IS, DO YOU GET USED TO THE LACK OF SPACE? AT THE MOMENT I DRIVE A TOYOTA HILUX SURF WHICH HAS ALOT OF ROOM.... IS IT REALLY AS IMPRACTABLE AS I THINK?

Yes

The usual thing i see going on most people's mr2s are
the dizzy cap and alternator , alternator can cause things
like the battery totaly being flattened this in turn
affects powersteering and other such wierd things
alternators are usually a pain to fix and cost abit to get a new one.

Also Oil leaks can be a problem, out of all the cars ive had
this mr2 has had the most in terms of leaks still have to get
my leak sorted its a very tiny amount under the block.

I also have another major problem a bearing has gone
not sure if its the cam belt pully or the alternator belt pully
will find that out on tuesday!

Alternator + dizzy cap yep thats pretty common
but dont forget i have a 1992 reg car abit old
all cars of a certain age have there faults.

Damn even the brand new ones break down ;)

It is worth the money, but when you go to look
for an mr2 check for oil leaks, and just be warned
an alternator and dizzy cap MAY need to be changed.

With all the problems ive had myself , it goes damn fast
and it takes alot of stick would i change my mind with the mr2?
NO! :)

i've had mine for over 3 years now and general stuff is dizzy cap, ignition leads and spark plugs. the rest of the stuff is general wear and tear. alternators going are not that common.

Lack of space is good....you only have to give one lift to one person, and the lack of space means you wont get asked to pick anyone up from the airport with big suitcases !!!! :D

if you pick a good one, then you should have no problems what so ever.
dont forget your buying a 12-13 year car, what do you expect. its not gona be brand new.
a few things may go wrong, nothing major you hope. but for the money, where else and what else could you get a car in the high 5's 0-60!
not much will beat that mate, ESPECIALLY for the money!
ive only had to replace typical things. pads, discs, tyres. normal stuff. they can be a bit tempermental (sorry spelling, lol), for thermostats and temp sendors. but very cheap to sort out.

make sure if it has gona past 60k miles, its had a cam belt change! costs between £200-400 to get this done!
