i now know where ive seen this car before, my mate sent me a barryboy link, this was on it.
(the scum on barryboys left a flyer under the wiper on this car saying to check out the site where they slagged it off)......pretty harsh.

Hey guys,

I just want to insert my opinions here....I only read the first 5 pages, and after reading so many insults I got fed up.

Firstly, why all the comments about being gay? Just because it's pink, it does not mean that he is gay at all.

Those of you who know Scott (if any) would know he's far from gay...his fiancee is one of the best looking women in the North East...

And I own a purple car, which I get told is a "gay colour". I can't see it myself.

Image

And, the car in question is far nicer in real life than it is in the pictures. The blue pearl (see, blue, a masculine colour) does not come out in the pictures like it does in real life.

You say about performance, but 260bhp is hardly p1$$ poor now is it?

Anyway, im only saying I don't see the need to criticise and have a go.

I have no idea how old any of you guys are, but me and Scott are both young, and maybe its different for us younger people?

Anyway, I've just bought this, because its an unreal motor.

And my missus loves it to pieces...:P

(and now you can all call me gay!!)[/img]

BI7AD K, you two are fighting a losing battle here I'm afraid.

To be completely honest with you, the stereotypical owner of a car like pinkpleasure's is one that people on here are not too keen on embrasing. Yes, we are being ignorant because we don't know him, or his apparently very good looking fiancee, but that's human nature I'm afraid.

It certainly doesn't help to put an image of a Fiesta on an MR2 owners club website! Although I am sure it is an 'unreal motor'.

Modesty is a wonderful thing

Agree with you.. there is no credence in saying someone is gay just because they have a pink car. I think half the problem is MR2 owners are so paranoid over the hairdresser image that they are either all in denial or they just have a complex about trying not to appear gay because they own an MR2. ;)

Again, agree younger drivers are into different things and taste changes with age... I know this because i'm an old dinosaur at 34. When i was 17 i thought an 82 XR2 was the car of my dreams. It isn't now of course.. I used to like bodykits by dimma etc.. but nowadays if it isn't a factory bodykit i don't like it. Add to all this that taste is a personal thing.

Maybe I am fighting a losing battle....

But, one thing I am not is a chav. I hate them....i'm classed as a trendy...and was a mosher back in college!! Yup, that's right, I went to college. 14 GCSE's A-C, 5 A-levels and now a HND in Mechanical Engineering. Some chav eh?

Anyway, enough of the insults.

And, I really can't see how an FRST is a chav car...because it's not. It's more of a collectors hot hatch now wouldn't you say?

And I only posted the pic of my car to show the colour, as it's also supposedly gay. But I can't see it to be honest.

Anyway guys, I really don't want a slanging match, because it's not what I'm about. I came on here actually, as I now own an MR2. And, I wanted to meet some people.

Obviously I know that Scott's car isn't a crowd pleaser on here, and I'm not going to trade insults with anyone that doesn't like it.

(Would you believe I'm only 21 and this mature?)

Lol.

If truth be told, I do think that people have varying degrees of what they like with respect to cars. For example, someone just called my FRST a Chav car, where as to be honest, the exterior is basically standard bar the rear spoiler. Oh, and the colour.

Maybe it's the age thing...Ten years ago when I was 11, and growing up, the FRST was my favourite car behind the Escort Cosworth...and now I have one. It's well maintained, not ragged about, and it's not got any of these fake chav vents and stuff that you have seemed to associate with myself!

So why have I bought this car? To be honest, because it's totally different. It's a very camp car, true, but it stands out. And trust me, the girls up here absolutely love it.

But I've always wanted an MR2 Turbo, and now I have one.

So please guys and gals, fire away at me...

What makes your Fiesta generic 'chav' is that "gotta have it to be wicked" bonnet extension that lots of people seem to be sporting at the moment - if it wasn't for that I'd probably view it as a cherished example owned by an enthusiast.

Anyway it's nice to have more people here, different opinions add a bit of spice to things.

B17 ADK - I have a pruple car too so you are in good company :gayfight:

I beleive the main reason your friend got slated was not his car - because if you look at the thread again i posted a link to another IMOC thread where he car was commented upon by people with him out of the equation... it was a 50 50 split in opinion..

now on the thread that "you gave up reading after 5 pages" - it's more to do with your friend's attitude more than anythging else.. and his lack of humour.

People made comments about the colour and styling and instead of him laughing it off (like i do - remember i have a purple one ! - car that is  ) he got very arsey...

it's like being at school - if you get reactions you dig a bit more - before you know it - it's so easy to wind someone up it's comical !

all I'm saying is it's very easy to judge a public forum as jumping on your friend but he got off on the wrong foot and it went downhill... he should have relaxed, chilled out and gone with the general comic flow...

I mean does he get all arsey in person when people express an opinion on his car ?.. I would doubt that

as the old saying goes - if you've dug yourself into a hole - STOP DIGGING !

hope that explains the thread a bit more (from pages 5 onwards  )
cheers
Frank.
(with a gay purple MR2 and like the abuse it brings - i enjoy the banter  )

Cheers mate...

I read the other 7 pages in between last night, and yeah he does seem to get a bit arsey doesn't he?

But I suppose that after all the effort he has put in, then I can sort of see why....

My lass has told me I'm gonna get the p1$$ taken constantly, and I know I will...but, I'm straight and am confident enough to drive around in this car.

Anyway, like I said, I'm not here for no arguments or anything....:P

I'll take all the stick you people throw at me. I suppose its the price to pay to be different.

Just wanna meet some people.

And I don't think your purple MR2 is gay, to me it looks pretty sweet :P

Oh, and I suppose the bad boy bonnet is a bit chav like, I can see what your saying there I suppose. But I prefer it to the standard look....

And I think Morettes suck, so thats why I went that way :P

yup !

Good of you to come back and say so though =D>

Welcome to IMOC and enjoy the banter fending off the gay comments - keeps me amused during the day anyway

ps. mine is a standard colour - think Toyota bowed to the popular belief of being a hairdressers car and thought they'd go with the flow

Dark purple isn't a gay colour (but don't tell Frank that  )

Pink on the other hand. :gayfight:
