Ever seen an MR2 without a spoiler? I think most people would agree they need one.

Ever compared an MR2 in a wind tunnel with and without a spoiler to study the drag co-efficiency? Maybe Toyota did. Maybe, thats why we have one. And why would they fit an adjustable spoiler to the rev5? to adjust the drag? so they must do something. IMO.

Like it's been said many times. Its a performance car. They were fitted with spoilers as standard. I think you're confusing an MR2 with Novas and Saxos. Now please leave us alone.

0-60, nope, 2-3mph off the top end - wouldn't know, can't measure the co-efficient so don't know,
weighs less - about 5 - 6kgs less.
Not going to sell my car, doesn't effect my insurance, I have a knackered O2 sensor so my mpg is bad anyway!

BTCC teams spend an obscene amount of cash on windtunnel testing and their spoilers are matched to the cars.

That's a bit of a broad statement mate! Surely it depends entirely on what non-standard spoiler you fit? Have you ever felt how heavy the standard spoiler is?

Probably are , but the stats you have provided really dont make that much difference to alot of people i went for the style of spoiler for the car perhaps it does add a bit of drag, and it knocks the top end of a little bit. But these are extremely minor unless your thrashing it down santa pod you wont notice the difference.

The cars ive overtaken, the cars i have beaten even if i didnt have the spoiler im still going to be overtaking those cars. Just because the spoiler is suddenly removed im not going to be mr speed and keep up with that db7!

Ever since i got my spoiler i have had an increase in drivers wanting to race me ! ive had Mercs , Novas , Bmw M3's ... The biggest grin is beating a car that probably costs about £15.000+ compared to my £4000 that is far older
like these Merc Tdi's

Beat a new M3 (although he didn't know how to launch and I rinsed him, from then it was catch up and it was over before he could!) that was funny though

Although it was suprising to see so many people at a 1/4 mile event who couldn't launch their car... they were driving it like a car and not a racing car! Launching at about 2k rpm doesn't work! lol

When i had the old spoiler off my mr2 and it was sprayed it looked really odd
like a bare ar$e something about adding bigger spoilers makes the car look more beefy. I think i can see why people get body kits, Like the TRD....
im going to get a body kit for mine, but not veilside bumpers it looks like a fish to me but i dont Attack people because they have it fitted we are all different people. We like different things, that will never change... For all i know Mat could be very homosexual but then thats nothing to do with me i dont have a go at him because of it.
