Has anyone any stories/experiences of online tuning, i am intouch with a Auz company who tune touring cars with the link system, they tell me its easy and just as effective to tune the car online, what do you boyz think!
It sound great but there must be some negatives! Tuning at Auz dollars is a definate bonus!

How are you doing to get your online car onto an online dyno so that they can do online tuning?
I can email you a map for your car, is that online tuning?
no mate, its done through a simple broadband connection to my laptop that holds the software, the link ecu datalogs everything, so they can tune step by step, drive tune, drive tube, drive tune, and so on, what do you think
It would work, at the end of the day its easy enough to access live data across the net.
What would concern me would be;
a) time delay
b) the tuner cant actually listen to the car, or take it for a spin or listen for audible knock with those ear muff things.
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!
Just say NO to small turbos!
Thanks steve thats what i was looking for!
I can quiz them about these kind of issues if im aware of them, having never done this before im a bit blank
I have sent my spec list, and they are already free of charge building me a map! then like any other tuner they will charge me for time, thats is, time spent online tuning not all the standing around stuff alot of the uk tuners do! sounds like a winner, just waiting for the major pitfall!
Are you planning to tune on the road? or on a dyno?
Road tuning is tricky as to put the car under load you've got to do some weird driving techniques ... lol ... driving against the brakes etc

well the plan at this stage was to use them to make me a map that suits roughly my setup, get the car running without boost, do the run in period and then probably use a uk tuner (someone that gives a $hit) to fine tune, so i figured that the stuff coming down the broadband connect from auz isnt massively important in terms of fine tuning, now i do know of a rolling road just 2 minutes from my house, and they are pretty nice guys so if i couldnt find a good uk tuner, then i can put it on the rollers and hook up my laptop to their broadband connection and let the auz lad do his stuff Touring car styley .
Lol ... you'll need a serious rolling road for your car fonz, its going to be putting out some big horsepower!! Quite a few of the "local" places cant really cater to over 350hp at the fly

Just say NO to small turbos!
I think the place near me is using a dyno from auz which seemed capable of being acurate for a few muscle cars , i witnessed one at (378 corvette) and before i arrived they done a 5 little supercharged jobbie and ran 480 something if my memory serves me correctly, i will have to double check this steve, thanks though mate, its all stuff to be considered!
