window regulator

Post by jaxx »

some owners may know the window regs on mr2s are prone to destroying themselves, this is most easily noted when the window stops lining up properly

i suffered the above problem and attempted to adjust the window to help it sit right, which helped to an extent but wasnt perfect, i was then told about how they fail and through the years of torsion running through the mounting lugs, they eventually just give up and snap!

with the doorcard off and having a feel round, two are totally removed and the remaining two are well on their way!

a call to fensport reveals they have brand new OEM toyota ones for the grand price of £47.65 + VAT and Delivery

took me about an hour to fit and if your careful you dont have to remove the glass which is a PITA!

now my window works proper and lines up correct :)

pic shows the old and new with the damage highlighted in red

Hi, how heavy is a regulator - a rough idea is OK?
I may have to post one to the states but dont want to dismantle the door only to find out that the guy wont pay postage.
Cheers,
Chris.
