Separate For Sale Sections???

Post by scotti1 »

Pretty new to IMOC and stop me if this has already been suggested and booed off but I'd like to see a separate 'ITEMS FOR SALE' and 'CARS FOR SALE' section, what do you think?? Am I just being awkward?? 8-[

Not at all, myself and many others also feel this would be a good thing - it's been suggested since the site went live over a year ago.

Sadly those with the powers to do such things don't seem to think it's a good idea for some reason.

Scott - this is a great idea and would welcome it. I put a post on recently about a Classic car for sale and "Knight Rider's" double (Michael) sent me a very nice e-mail, saying it had been removed, as it wasn't appropriate. I am sure out there, someone would like to buy a 1937 Morris 8?? contact me if you wish details!! O:)

I've always fancied the idea of an "other items" type section for selling random items so I agree with you Caroline, sadly when I contacted you about the ad I was just following the rules that are in place - perhaps the future will bring changes.

It would really help out people like me who are just looking for their next car! I spend lots of time going through all the parts for sale, its a pain in the ass for me trying to pick out the cars. It's just a suggestion from a new member....... I ain't moaning about it, love the site, love the cars. Maybe we should put it up to a poll??? :-k

We always like suggestions mate, and yes this is one that has come up several times. All modifications to the board are currently on hold though as we are migrating to a new server (yes it has taken a long time, money and effort has to coincide) but it is on the ever-increasing to do list...

It will happen but its not an overly 'high priority' at the moment. Surely Ebay et al should suffice?

You say that but look at all the stuff people try to advertise on here?

I see no harm in a small section being created, it will look after itself 99% of the time, helps members make some cash to spend on their cars and gives others the opportunity to grab a bargain.

It would really need to be introduced with some form of trader rating system though.

XBox anyone? ;)

Folks,

We have been listening to this feedback, and the intention is to do this when we have the V2 site live. With the work needed for that, it is looking like being ~ 8 weeks away currently.

At the moment I've made the call to put our time and effort into the new site rather than introducing new features here - it doesn't make sense to change things here when it is only going to be live for 8 weeks - and we also then have to duplicate the work on the V2 site.

I realise this means you've got to wait a little longer, but it will be worth it.

=D> Can't wait!! Thanks for taking the time to listen to me guys!! Makes me feel even more welcome!!

Hope to see you all at events and meetings soon!

I'll be the one with worn out rear tyres  Well, maybe not the ONLY one

Looking forward to the new site, will that mean we pay more subscription?? :?

BTW Lauren: IS eBay a good way to buy and sell cars???????????? :-k

*bump*

Please can we have 'Cars for Sale' and 'Parts for Sale' at the very least? I've spent the morning looking through the listings for friend and it's an absolute PITA to find anything.

It would be even better if things were broken down further into MK1, MK2, MK3 etc but I won't push my luck.

Please?

Pretty please?

I'll bring it up over the weekend. I do favour an 'other items for sale' section but make it for premium members only, so we don't get spammed by people signing up to sell any old sh1te....

Great idea. May I suggest the following:

MK1 section
MK2 section
MK3 section
Any other section
Yellow section (just for Toni)
I am going to live forever, or die trying!

I agree and think there needs to be sections added in the for sale bit as it justs waste my time going through pages of items that I`m not after.

Well done to those involved in this; it looks far better, and is a lot easier to navigate round now.
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!
