Crispy duck?

Very good choice sir, but i'm not sure it's going to be covered by the meal deal we are going for
I'll give it my best shot though (hmmmmmmmmmm... crispy duck)

Really leaving it up to people - some might be stopping off to eat on the way up etc, or getting there late anyway, so I haven't tried to organise anything.

Ofcourse there is cooking facilities in all the cottages, so you could do the self catering lark.
Alternatively, there are indian, chinese, pizza and fish and chip takeaways in Menai Bridge.
If a bunch of people turn up and want to go to a local (sorry - don't know the area well enough to suggest anything), then that could be done ad hoc too...

I assume everyone will head over to the coach house to natter and say hello on Friday night when they arrive...

I plan to head off midday-ish, with an easy cruise and a couple of stops I guesstimate arriving at 5~6 (don't want to arrive at midnight again!) so will be up for some sort of food that evening, don't care what, takeaway or pub food both sound good :)

Pfff, I'll be in the loft by the time everyone arrives, drilling holes through the ceiling and peering down - Shallow Grave style.

Just got some of the first provisions in for the party - we'll be picking up more tomorrow from Bangor:

Carlsberg, Bud, Smirnoff Ice, lots of soft drinks, and some Bubbly that Sarah and I are contributing - more on Saturday about that :D

Guys, my girlfriend and I are proficient Chinese cooks (She is from Dalian in the north of China) We would be happy to cook for you on Saturday night?

Also, I have work until late tonight, is it going to be ok to role up to the cottage at around 9.30pm - 10.30pm (It's a 300 mile drive to the cottage for me!)

Cheers for the offer - for the party on Saturday, we have 32 coming - cooking wold be a full time job, so instead we've budgeted for about half of the £10 people have put in to cover take-away - we've got Italian, Chinese and Indian in mind, as per the list above ...

We haven't worked anything out for Friday and Sunday nights though, we can sort something out when we're there.

Right, off to pack the '2 now :)

Tis ok, would be a lot of people to cook for, and the local takeaways have been prewarned.

Yes, no trouble rolling up then. You've got Annas mobile if you get lost :)

Lost? Me? Never :P (hahahaha, I'll be calling).

Okay, on another note :) Friday Night / Saturday Party;

Anyone considered bringing an X-Box or something with some good racing games on it? I don't mind bringing mine with NFS, Halo / Halo 2 etc.

Might be quite fun to get drunk on and practice crashing before the real event :D

Hello there campers!

Dunno about you, but I had a great time this weekend. You lot certainly are a great bunch and it made the effort spent on getting the party and accomodation sorted out worthwhile :D

Thankyou to everyone for helping out and tidying up - as a result we did retain the cleaning deposit, so that will be winging it's way back to you shortly.

As this is the first time that we have attempted shenanigans of this sort, we'd be really interested to hear about any feedback: anything you weren't happy with, and even things that you were.

A couple of things I managed to pick up on:
- Some selection of wines might be a good idea for the party
- I should not be allowed to fettle with boilers
:)

I was disappointed with the French Fancy supply, unless this is rectified in the future I shan't be attending anymore of these events.

Other than that a cracking place, well done for sorting it all out :)
We must remember to bring a working DVD player next time for background crash videos etc, as suggested by Lauren at the time.

Just remembered - electric/gas bill, I don't recall contributing. How much was it?

Yes - bit cheeky seeing as they hadn't told me about it!
It ended up being roughly £100 (I really hadn't realised how bloody expensive gas is!), but we were exactly £151 up from a combination of last minute reshuffling to get 2 extra punters in and a half price rate on one of the cottages.
As we near enough broke even on the food/drinks budget, there is no need to pay anymore - huzzah!

Anna, I think it went brilliantly well which is a testament to your organisational skills.

The accomodation was lovely and absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Apart from not being able to play DVDs which was just unlucky i can't think of much else we could have improved.

I thought the whole food thing worked really well...

In fact Jonny has been onto me to ask about costs of hiring plascadnant in the future!
