IDLE Speed low when Cold???

Post by scann2 »

On these cold mornings, i remember about 7 years ago when i bought my G-Limited '93 MKII MR2, that on cold mornings the IDLE speed was always high until it was warm? Now i sort of always stays at 800-1000rpm all the time, how come??????/
I noticed this because my K&N would suck like mad making the nice 'ppppsssssssssssssssssssssssss' noise :-)
Help appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like idle control valve might be sticking mine is doing the same and i going to greese it up tonight as if they stick does allow the extra air to come through the throttle body on idle startup and basically if there is not enough air in cylinders then you get misfires.

Have a look on BGB
