I didn't need an adaptor plate as such.

My JVC head unit screwed into the 2 stereo brackets already holding the double din stereo in place.

I fitted my new single DIN headunit at the top, and used the lower half of the bracket to hold a DIN tray.

These are about

£15/

£20 from Halfords or a car stereo shop.

If you don't want a tray, you can get blanking panels, gauge holders or fancy metal plates with

"MR2" cut out on ebay.

I can't really help with the wiring.

My harness was already butchered beyond recognition when the previous owner fitted an aftermarket double din unit.

My JCV used a standard ISO connector, and I used an ISO connector with open wiring at the other end

(came with the stereo).

I then spent 20 minutes with a miltimetre working out which wire in the butchered harness I needed to connect up with my head unit's wiring.

Eg, permanant live, accessory live, earth, aieral remote feed, then the

+/- for 4 speakers.

12 wires in total.

Some kits may have an illumination feed also.

And the car's aerial of course, but that one's dead easy.
