I was kinda holding off de-catting until I drove the missus' new X-reg 1.7 Puma at the weekend.

The bloody thing is nippier than my NA and I'm not having it.

Add to that, the guy who MOT'd my motor drove it to his workshop and then told my brother-in-law afterwards that it

"wasn't very good at low revs".

(I have always known that in my heart but hearing it from someone else second-hand has cheesed me off and spurred me into action.

)

Once I've de-catted, I'm going to chip it when I have a few quid scraped together.

I'm not looking for massive improvements performance-wise, just something that is a bit perkier through the revs and more deserving of the car's sporty appearance.
