Ouch!

Hopefully the car can be repaired to its former glory! Are you ok?

What tyres have you go? As the tread pattern on the front looks like you'll be getting a lot of understeer in wet conditions!

Is the kit declared but on the basis that they will only replace it with a standard item?

If this is the case then you are fine, find a friendly bodyshop and let them charge for an expensive OEM bumper but fit one of your choice with some cash left over to treat the car to something new.

hi mate.sorry to here bout your crash.
ive rebuilt quite a few crashed mr2s.
the bad news is it will probably be written off.ive had written off ones with alot less damage come in.
however this could work out good as you can usually buy your car back for next to nothing.wait for insurance to make their offer and make sure you turn it down (at least once mabey twice as its just a game of haggling).you may need to find some adverts of cars like yours for sale (only print out the most expensive ones) then you can use this to squeeze more money out of them.once they make a good offer ask if you can buy your car back from them (usually a few hundred quid) and they will deduct that from the original offer.then you have your car back.all the money to repair it with secondhand parts plus extra cash in your pocket.
if you are lucky enough for it not to be written off then i think this earlier advice is spot on

' Is the kit declared but on the basis that they will only replace it with a standard item?

hope this helps.if you need any advice give me an email

IIRC an OE bumper is pretty bloody expensive so you should be fine and prob come out ontop.

No insurance advice mate, just wanted to send my condolances as i am fully aware of your pain.

I'm impressed within 45 mins you had full details and a photo on here, i was still crying my eyes out for days after.

I couldn't afford the luxury of claiming of my insurance, would have meant bye bye sports cars for the next few years, hello ford ka. They've got you by the curlies over here.

i've had a bloke from a bodyshop come up to examin it. he's says it's defenately a write-off #-o

i'll either buy the car back off the insurance company or see how much i can get for it.

Also does anyone know how much of the car i can strip before the insurance company take it away? i.e. the wheels etc

I think it's just basically personal items, maybe things like stereo equipment. I wanted to take the leather and alacantara seats out of mine, brand new EBC discs, gearbox, front end etc but I think they would have noticed!!

Well if you're going to do someting, do it proper!! I would have said yours was repairable not a write off, but can't see from the pictures if any structural damage was done.

i was sat in my car earlier today i thought to myself 'i'm getting it back on the road' :D

The only thing is that it needs to go on a jig but the sideskirts are in the way. the skirts are fitted so well that when you open the door you can't tell were the edge of the skirts are, if you get what i mean :-s . will they be ruined if there taken off?

also were can i get a front bumper from? how good are the veilside replica's? there was a genuin veilside one on there before.
